RIM 7130c lands on Cingular Wireless

Our first reports on the new 7130c device date from back in April, and as we expected the RIM 7130c has arrived at Cingular. The new device will be available from Cingular staring June 12th for $199.99 with two year agreement. New Blackberry Personal Plan offers customers unlimited access to the Web and e-mails via Cingular's EDGE network. For corporate customers who need Blackberry Enterprise Server, the unlimited data will cost $49.99 or $44.99 with qualified voice plan.

RIM 7130c has a slimmer, narrower phone-like design that will appeal to the broader wireless user population. It allows users to stay connected with a full featured phone and integrated, wireless high-speed access to e-mail, text messaging, Web, organizer and applications. The handset uses RIM's SureType(TM) technology which converges a telephone keypad and a QWERTY keyboard to attain the narrow design of a traditional mobile phone, while ensuring dialing and typing is quick and easy.

7130g is the version which is expected to be launched by T-Mobile.

RIM 7130c features include:

  • quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
  • 4.5 x 2.2 x 0.72 in; 4.2oz
  • 64MB flash memory; 16MB SRAM
  • Bluetooth Class 2
  • SureType keyboard
