Qualcomm overhauls Vellamo benchmark with CPU and memory tests
Share:
With plenty of new chips hitting the market it’s often hard to tell them apart in terms of real-life performance and that’s what benchmarks are for. Now, Vellamo, one of those Android benchmarks, is getting updated to include more modern HTML5 and “metal” tests, pushing the limits of your hardware and comparing it with other devices available on the market right now.\
Vellamo is a benchmark made by Qualcomm and now is not just a web benchmark. In the “metal” chapter of the test it goes through CPU performance, networking capabilities on 3G and 4G and there is a separate HTML5 part that allows you to see how well your device does in rendering content on the web.
Best of all it’s free, but before you download, why don’t you first check out the video below.

I ran it last night on both my single core hummingbird equipped SGS1 running ICS and my dual core Tegra2 equipped tablet running JB.
My phone blew the tablet away.. by a decent margin in most aspects. The T2 has a stronger GPU than the S3- dual core snapdragon in most phones, just for reference.
Go samsung tech! lol.

Reports are coming in that the benchmark is single threaded meaning the quad core advantage won't show in the score. GG Qualcomm
