Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 vs Snapdragon 821 and SD820: here's what the known differences are

42comments

Qualcomm just announced one of its top-tier chipsets for 2017 and its name is... Snapdragon 835. It will succeed the Snapdragon 821 as the manufacturer's top-tier chipset, once again proving that we still have no grasp on Qualcomm's naming philosophy.

While not enough specs and features got revealed, Qualcomm poured lots and lots of oil in the fire of our anticipation by letting us know that the silicon will be manufactured by Samsung on a 10nm FinFET process and employ Quick Charge 4.0 for a snappier recharging experience. This means that apart from a 30% smaller physical footprint, the upcoming Snapdragon 835 will be 27% faster and 40% more power-efficient in comparison with the Snapdragon 820, which definitely gets our hearts racing!

Quick Charge 4.0, on the other hand, will provide 20% faster charging in comparison with Quick Charge 3.0 and provide up to 5 hours of usage after merely 5 minutes of charging. Here's some more information about the hot new fast-charging technology on the block.

We thought it will be rather nice if we compared the Snapdragon 835, SD821, and SD820 in a neat table to showcase all these differences.
