This looks awesome! I'm glad to see companies offering more affordable tablets. I just can't wait to see if the supposed Asus Nexus tablet comes in at the $150 rumored price tag and if it also offers the quad-core CPU.

I am sure that when it will come to India it will cost way more than 400 dollard here i.e 20000+ INR, cuz every company wants to like smuggle us by overpricing anything
The samsung galaxy tab 7(2.0) which costed 250$ in the US and other areas costs around 20000 i.r around 400 dollars which is 150 dollars more than for the price it is offered in the US.
These companies think that we are fool who will buy anything for any price they sell us.
They think that we, the Indians don't know that on what basis a device is considered great and which is bad, Even the first Galaxy Tab which still runs on a single core processor is selling in India for 25-300k ($500-$600) which is way overpriced, the older product costs more that the new one and the new one being the budget tablet still costs way more than what the price it should have..
That is plain robbery man..!!
Here the very old single core tablets costs around Rs. 15k ($250) which is way overpriced.
and at the end the Asus Transformer Prime costs 50k in India that translates to a whopping 1000 us dollars,
I don't know why these companies us like this, we buy things for much more price and get software updates at last and not good support at all.
For us the device which is in the budget category is a midrange one for us
and the mid range one is a HIgh end in terms of price and the HIgh end's here are the one which only the nobels can have cuz they are so expensive

Have you ever thought about your goverment?
They are making the prices so high

Actually its our governments fault,
Our economy is low when compared to the US,
The government just hikes the price of petrol etc but
does not increase the wages provided to the workers.
We cannot blame the companies.

the 8 gb model is not available in India...its the 16gb model that sells for Rs.20k ($400) in India and about GBP.300 ($450) in the UK...

Excellent. But I want dual-core tablets in the 130-140$ range. No use of quad-core to me.

An extra $60 gets you a quad-core tablet that wil have little to no lag.

I am more wondering about the negatives of this tablet, such as brightness under bright sun or Root-friendly

I am hoping to get my parents to replace my OG Ipad soon. I am hoping they let me. But if they do I dont know how I'm going to decide between these acer tablets, the huaweii media pad 10 or the nexus tablet. The android tablet market is finally growing!! Would any of these tablets be able to replace a laptop for my future needs in high school, and distant future, college? I do not want to go back to the ipad bc it is not a good os to run pdfs and double as a laptop. Itmis an efficient os, I just need something more powerful. I just hope my parents let me get a new tablet.

This hopefully will put the fire to apple's feet in getting a cheaper ipad as well. $600-800 for a tab is a non-starter, but at $200 its normal gifting territory.
