"Apple indicates that these claims injure their reputation, and are threatening to sue Proview"
because the endless lawsuits flowing from apple's legal department arent injuring their reputation at all....
so childish. i hope proview declines all out of court settlements and has the ipad banned from being imported AND exported from China.

That will never happen...
We are all fans of some technology in this world and write our opinions based on no experience whatsoever about a competition's certain product. (Well not all of us) But you must probably be the most hater of all haters for saying that.
Apple will get their respective punishment as this lawsuit comes to an end (if).
Just as HTC, Samsung and others paid their fair to Apple, Apple will now pay Proview and whoever else wants to make another lawsuit that the court rules in their favor.
What if your favorite phone & and tablet manufacturer gets banned from entering US... Would you like that, i dont think so.
But you know we can say whatever we want so... yeah!

iPhone - an iPod with cellular radio
iPad 3G - an oversized iPhone, which itself is an oversized iPod
iPad WiFi - an oversized iPhone without the cellular radio, which makes it an oversized iPod

Um, the only company that truly infringed on any apple patent was samsung. Apple just gve thier lawyers a stack of cash bigger than u can imagine and an EVEN BIGGER budget. Then, they said, go be anti competitive and find EVERY posible thing that could be in any ridiculous way b used against someone cutting into our profits (ie, samsung, htc, moto, lg, nokia) Then they said to find ideas in other OSes (ie, andriod notification bar, anyone?) that they could steal

Sue for what exactly? For not allowing them to use the ipad name which is trademarked/patented by proview? Sounds smart aren't they?

i believe that even if apple sued and won i germany it wouldnt mean anything if china doesnt except it. dont forget china does not have to operate under ares or Eu laws unless it fits them to do so

i think ivanko's point was that apple would win if the lawsuit was in german court.

Trying to find justice in China is a losing battle. It's the land of piracy, and it's government is even more corrupt than others. In China, you could literally steal iPads, slap a sticker with your company name on it over the Apple logo, and sell them as your product, and if you grease the right palms in the government, you'll get away with it.
Apple won't lose a lawsuit in America, but they may lose the entire Chinese market for iPads - and that's a damned big market.

apple will have to make a lot of promises to the chinese goverment which means $$$. Also with them keeping there manufactoring base there for long term
