Project ahead for Motorola DROID BIONIC?

0. phoneArena posted on 15 Nov 2011, 01:09

An email sent from the Motorola Owner's Forum to members who own the Motorola DROID BIONIC, suggests that the manufacturer is getting ready for a soak test prior to instituting some sort of update; with the source code for Android 4.0 expected to be launched Thursday, it is too early to expect this to be ICS...

I would take the bionic over the razr. They both dont have good bat life so having a removable battery is cool plus it doesnt have a hump. The proccesor is a wash and the screen and materials are the only reasons i would get the razr over the bionic.

fair reasoning.

The Bionic has a hump. It's just stretched halfway down the phone instead of down the first centimeter.

But I dig your reasoning. The Bionic is also cheaper. I'd personally take the Razr. I like my phones as tough as possible, and the hump on my DROID X actually made it easier to grip when I was holding it in landscape mode. I've actually missed the hump on my Atrix.

Well the hump on the bionic is not nearly as big as the one on the razr. The bionics materials aren't bad and the fact that its cheaper is just icing on the cake. I can understand why you like the hump but i like to lay my phone on a table and the hump makes it much more difficult.

count me as one happy to see news for the Bionic. (:
this is actually just a firmware update. it's probably the one we've been aware of for a few weeks now.

don't get it...sites like this one and geeks made a hype about Bionic, so don't grunge now

only reason i "feel bad" for bionic owners is the price drop.... its an awesome phone and not oversized or anything.... i have the razr right now but know many people who were waiting for the razr to come out just so they could pick this phone up for around 100-149 on amazon or another site. Is there a better phone for $119 on verizon right now? thats the phone to buy if you dont want to spend $299 on all these "newest and greatest" devices.

I hope it is a camera fix if that is possible. This thing is so slow...

Yeah that was one of my biggest beef with the bionic; camera shutter speed was way too slow.

I honestly hope there is a software update to correct the "dropped data" issue first. I couldn't tell you the amount of times I have to reset my phone in order to get my data service back. I have had 4 Bionics and now my 5th is doing the same thing. Great phone, crappy data reception.

I waited for the BIONIC since January, and I'm very pleased with the potential of the hardware. 4G came on my area recently, and I love the speed. Software has been an issue (well known by now), and I'm hoping the soak test will make Gingerbread more stable (it's possible, right?) before jumping to ICS. I want ICS, but I want it fully frozen, not half melted.

I got talked into the razr and wish i would have bought the bionic that i originally went into the store to purchase. I paid retail price (on black Friday) at a local verizon local store, and they say I have had too many exchanges on previous purchases to exchange it, nor will they return it and refund my money. I am about to switch back to at&t
