Price cut, an update to KitKat, and better streaming coming to the NVIDIA Shield

NVIDIA's gamepad-shaped love letter to mobile gaming, the Shield Tegra 4 console, is about to become better and cheaper. For starters, a price cut will trim the Shield's price down to $199, which is definitely more palatable than the $250 to $300 which the device used to sell for. While NVIDIA hasn't explained its motives, it's not unreasonable to assume that a successor to the console is being primed for release...

I said the same thing yesterday but thought to myself do I really need it. If Sony released a version of their Sony Viva with Android that would have appealed to me more. This nvidia gadget is too clunky for my taste.

Very nice. I was just thinking of buying a Vita. If the game streaming can work with AMD GPUS as well (Since I have a Radeon, not a Geforce) then I would totally get this over the Vita.

AFAIK the game streaming will never work with other than kepler based gpu because the need for specific hardware that only exist on kepler gpu. in theory the streaming could work without this hardware but latency will be the issue.
