Pressy brings the configurable physical button you always missed on your Android smartphone

What if you could add a physical button to the Samsung Galaxy S4 or the HTC One? Pressy is a Kickstarter project that allows you to do just that and not just with the S4 and the One…

SAYS:problem is the years TOP OF THE LINE devices like galaxy s4 and htc one..DONT have a dedicated botton..
SONY tops those two with its cam button always at ease..".make believe."

Well, SONY's top-of-the-line Xperia Z and Xperia Z Ultra don't have a dedicated camera button, so your argument is invalid.
And you can't really use this button for an Xperia Z, because you always have to leave that cover open.

indeed they didn't but, XPERIA X10, XPERIA X8, XPERIA neo, XPERIA arc, XPERIA mini, XPERIA mini pro, XPERIA S, XPERIA P, XPERIA U, XPERIA Sola, XPERIA Acro S, XPERIA Ion, XPERIA T, XPERIA E, XPERIA ZL, XPERIA SP, XPERIA L, XPERIA ZR, XPERIA C, XPERIA M
did have a dedicted shutter key. and let's not forget the upcoming Honami in 4 days.

Correct, and also the Upcoming Honami will have a waterproof open headset jack... (like S4 Active) so it will be possible for this too...
And to be honest, with bluetooth car stereo, headphones and portable speakers I never use the 3.5 mm jack, so this sounds like a great idea for me...
that is unless it prevents basic pause and skip music functions, or interfere with it

The open headphone jack is supposed to be crappy. When wet it apparently thinks that you have headphones plugged in, with the GS4 Active at least. Not sure which is crappier, not being able to use the speaker when wet or having a flimsy flap.
I think the best of three evils would be a plug but make it so it's not connected to the phone. Sure you might lose it easily but better than a flap and an imaginary head phones.

I can see that happening also for Sony... so to that end I rather have a flimsy flap... actually I rather have a well made flap... than open headset jack...
But if this button thing does not interfere with media playback and bluetooth sound, I rather have the open jack with this thing always on...

He is talking about S4 and One competition.

Love the ad, wish they had thought up of another way to place than in the headphone jack. I listen to music all the time and I don't know if it's just me but it kinda looks easy to lose.

That's why the have the keychain case. And there's really no other way to do it, other than through the microUSB port. They could make it work with NFC I guess, but I'm not sure how the button would stay attached to the phone without strong adhesive, which would mean it would be difficult to take it off if you would want to put your phone in a case.

One could come up with a dedicated back cover along with the button to work with the NFC instead of glueing it. Which would look kinda like LG G2. They could also come up with mini speakers ( Size comparable to the speakers on HTC one) fitted to the back cover or case. It would be like those extended battery cases but with speakers.

Interesting , will this Pressy thing be available for Windows Phone and iOS ?

If they decide to develop an app for it on those platforms. Right now they're marketing it as an Android button though.

This is gonna be retarded for phones with the headphone jack at the bottom of the phone. *Looks left at Galaxy Nexus* *Looks right at iPhone 5*

Most every phone has it on the top or bottom, and I only really foresee the need for a camera button when the phone is in landscape mode like holding a real camera. So either way it'll be awkward chilling on the side

and if you set this up to say take a picture, then you unplug it and put in headphones, what are the odds changing volume or pausing a song via you headphones will take a picture instead? I don't know how many different commands you can put in via headphone jack.

Will I be able to find it if my case is on my phone? Or will I hgave to take it off? I have the Kraken

They should think about making commercials full-time. That was entertaining.
