looks like the ATT variant of the international version.. which means Exynos. 400 for an exynos SGS2? Thats not too shabby. If its really the same phone with rebranding, then there is a lot of mods out for it.

Ikr. The international version got tons of love from XDA while my Sprint variant didn't and I had to wait for official ICS. :P

FYI - I believe I tipped PA to this story.
The second part of the tip was a brand new no-contract Samsung Galaxy S2 with t-mobile for $299 on the Wal-mart family family -- this version has the 4.5" screen and 4G speeds. I can't understand why Net 10 sells the 4.3" version for $399 while the 4.5" goes for $299.
I've been pointing for a long time now that no-contract phones are changing the wireless landscape. Ting is coming out with the Samsung S3 for an estimated $500.

T-Mobile may be subsidizing that or Samsung may be cutting corners on that version of the phone, that's usually how Walmart gets their lower prices.

The price is mostly due to the fact that Samsung already recouped its R&D and other sunk costs along with production efficiencies and lower material cost.
If you just think about the material cost, I would guesstimate about $170 to $190 for the handset so a $299 price leaves a lot of room for markups and profits.

It's the same phone, we actually had that deal up the begining of last month before it came out and I still can't believe the price.
T-Mobile & Walmart had to have worked out a deal to get this phone as cheap as possible in order to push out the Galaxy S IIs and get customers on Walmart Family Mobile / Tmo Prepaid.
