Pre-orders for Nokia Lumia 625 sell out on India's Snapdeals
Nokia has had a big winner with both the entry-level Nokia Lumia 520 and its twin, the T-Mobile branded Nokia Lumia 521. Now, it looks like the Nokia Lumia 625 might be following in the footsteps of the those two models. The handset sporting the largest screen of any Lumia flavored Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 625 was being made available for pre-orders in India from online retailer Snapdeals and has already sold out. Snapdeals was asking for a down payment of 1000 Rs ($16.22) with the remaining amount due upon the release of the phone in the last week of August.

Based on some data from mobile ad network AdDupplex, the Nokia Lumia 625 has already captured 1% of the Windows Phone market in Thailand after being launched there just days ago. Despite the large 4.7 inch screen, the rest of the specs are decidedly low to mid-range. The display's resolution of 480 x 800 results in a rather low pixel density of 201 ppi. Under the hood is a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 with only 512MB of RAM. There is 8GB of native storage inside along with a 64GB capacity microSD slot. A 5MP camera on back captures video in 1080 x 1920 at 30fps and there is a VGA front-facing shooter. The 2000mAh battery keeps the lights on.

With its success in the low-light photography niche and in the low-to-mid-range market, Nokia is building up some steam at the right time, just a few months prior to the all important holiday shopping season.

Don't the HTC Titan and Titan 2 both have 4.7in screens as well? And the Samsung Ativ has a 4.8in screen... so the Lumia 625 isn't really the phone with the largest screen on a Windows Phone, just the largest screen on a Nokia... I wish it was HD

"the largest screen of any Windows Phone" -Eh??? The Samsung Ativ S has a 4.8inch though, and that's been around for a while, you guys even reviewed it:
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-ATIV-S_id7463

So how does the Lumia 625 have the largest screen of any WP? Unless you mean of any Nokia WP.

Pre-order in a single site with no final price? no information on how many they had for pre-order? Even local companies like Micromax sells more phones than Nokia in India now. Samsung is anyways out of reach for them now.

That's what happen when you are stagnant and allow the market to get ahead.

Local companies like Micromax will soon see the same fate that they 2-3 years ago. They used to bring the feature phones from China and rebrand them, then sell here. That worked for 2-3 years. Then customers realized the problems with those phones. There was no support from these companies.
G5 was one such which was bigger than micromax and used to sell more phones than Samsung, only second to Nokia. They are out of business now.

The same thing will repeat. There are hundreds of companies buying China phones directly, rebrand them and sell here. There is no R&D, pathetic Custer support. Its omly matter of time people realize that you can good phones from brands like Nokia, sony at such prices.

Lumia 520 has fantastic specs for the price. There is no phone thats selling in India for Rs 10k has s4 processor, 8gb storage. Thats why samsung had to reduce the price of galaxt s duos two times aftee 520 came.

Smartphones market in India is still in early stages. Nokia and other companiea has long time to capture the market.

Fyi,

Mocromax had to refund the preorder money for Canvas 4 because the buyers did not like the phone they are getting for the price. Micromax was so arrogant that they did not even tell the specs of the phone. It back fired for them badly. Theu bribe the journos to write articles of sell outs for their phones.

Canvas 4 is rebranded blue life one.

"Even local companies like Micromax sells more phones than Nokia in India now". I dont think so. Probably you mean more smartphones than Nokia. Nokia still sells a huge number of feature phones in India.

It will sell well, previous lumia handsets may have not but the 520 certainly is a good seller. I've long been stating that windows phones don't sell and are unpopular, and until the 520 arrived I was right,Nokia has changed a bit recently and the shake up was needed badly. The 625 should do fairly well, judging by what I see day on day

Amazing!! Especially since people dont even know the final price. I am sure 625 will sell well if priced below 720.

Isn't it supposed to support dual sim feature? If yes, then I'm jumping on the windows phone side.
