Pre-order the Nokia Lumia 820 in the U.K.; device is free with monthly plans costing £29 and up

Carphone Warehouse has started accepting pre-orders for the mid-range Windows Phone 8 flavored Nokia Lumia 820. You can purchase the phone SIM-free for £379.95 ($613 USD) or go with a monthly data plan from O2, Orange or Vodafone. Pick a plan from any one of the three costing you £29 or higher ($47 USD) and you will get the phone for free. Each carrier has its own different plan for that price, so you need to check it out carefully. For example, at that price O2 will give you 600 anytime any network minutes, unlimited texts, and 100 MB of data. Vodafone’s plan has 300 minutes, unlimited texts, and 250 MB of data.
No matter which carrier you choose, or even if you go unlocked, Nokia will give you a free wireless charging plate which normally retails for £44.95 ($73 USD). While Carphone Warehouse doesn't have a shipping date for the phone, competitor Clove has a November 8 delivery date on its pre-order page for the Nokia Lumia 820. Clove is asking £399.98 SIM-free for the phone.

Is that it? You get the phone free as part of a plan. In the states they charges you in addition to the payments.
