Pre-order pricing suggests no price cut for the Samsung Galaxy S5

0. phoneArena 28 Feb 2014, 22:41 posted on

Amid talk that the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S5 might launch at a lower price than the Samsung Galaxy S4 at its launch, U.K. retailer Clove posted its pre-order price for the phone. The 16GB Samsung Galaxy S5 is priced at £499.99 ($838 USD) or £599.99 ($1005 USD) after tax. Amazon Spain is asking €730 ($1009 USD) for the same exact phone...

1500?? that is just insane. Samsung is insane. I wonder where their arrogance comes from. Are they actually expecting higher sales than the GS4 with that price? At first I thought the phone was decent due to their lower pricing compared to all the gimmicks they put in but now its just stupid. And yet they will sell millions... They seriously need a lesson.

Let me ask you something can i get any other phones with iOS other than the iPhone?
In android world samsung is replaceable thats what happen with HTC.

Slowly but sure there is many people start to "shift" from samsung to other manufacturers just like me from GS2 to Z1 Compact.

Thats not Samsung's pricing. Its just early-bird stock being taken advantage of. Later on it will be priced around $750 or maybe even $650

$1500 please tell me no one will pay that, if only all the people got together over there and said no and did not buy any then apple would be forced to drop price. an apple phone is not worth a third of that

FM radio is going downhill, IMO. So repetitive, though I like some of the talk shows. I can't even remember the last time I listened to music on FM radio. Whenever I drive my car, I just hook up my phone and use my Spotify playlist.

. All I'm saying for a S4 with a makeover for more than 1000$ it's insane. It's made out of plastic it's led the iphone look like a mid range phone compared to that!!! And yeah macbooks are expensive but they will last you for awhile that's why getting one.

s4 did well, in terms of sales, but they expected 2 times bigger sales than s3 does and it didn't happened. S5 will still be hot seller..and there is no point to put lower price.

It was the highest selling Android phone of last year & it sold at a faster rate than the S3. Just because it didn't sell as much as Samsung wanted it to, does not mean it "didn't do well". If it "didn't do well", how would you describe the sales of all other phones?

Pre-order prices may be this high, because the retailers now that the price Samsung has in mind is lower. Therefore they make a lot of money on the pre-orders, and afterwards they can tell that they 'didn't know what price it was supposed to be, because Samsung didn't reveal that until 11th April'.

Well before you all spit your dummies out, take a breather and remember this is a pre order price, when the galaxy s4 was announced on pre order it was in uk £679, then in the weeks upto it's release it dropped to £650, then £629, this devices is listed at £599. So a realistic price will be either somewhere in the region of £550 and if you wait for a month after it's released then u will prob get one for about £529, so in the uk at least, it will actually be lower then the s4 meaning Samsung kept a lower price point then it's previous gen phone.
The premium device will be the f-series, which I reckon will be closer to £699, QHD screen, 64gb storage, 3gb ram, snapdragon 805 @ 2.65ghz, unibody waterproof design with removable back cover, along with all the stuff the S5 has now in it, I would also like to see a bigger camera sensor, along with shutter speed control and really good low light skills but I doubt they would develop yet another sensor considering isocell is brand new
