Pre gets caught in the wild, launches no earlier than May 16?
Well, well, who would have thought that we will actually get to write about a truly earth-shaking phone these days? Palm has done pretty well keeping its marvel, the Pre, out of reach for unwelcome guests, but as the actual launch of the phone draws nearer it seems that we will have to get used to seeing it more and more. Two Pre phones have been spotted  at some annual “Bring Your Own Wheel race” and got snapped on the spot. Of course, there is a good fighting chance the images are actually fake, but if they aren’t... how those guys managed to obtain the phones in the first place we wonder? Still, they could have been employees field-testing the units, but either way, this may be a sign that the Pre is finally breaking loose.

It is not a secret that the device will be on offer with Sprint only. What is, however, is its exact launch date. We´ve got a quite interesting leaked document here, saying the Pre should hit the market no earlier than May 16 . We cannot be completely sure as to whether or not it´s truly authentic, but what´s on it does coincide to an extent with what is expected. So, take a good look at the images and cast about if the Pre is your kind of handset or not, because we might be writing our review soon enough!

It's actually "Bring your own Big Wheel Race" and that guy is not dancing, the big wheel went flying from underneath him and he caught himself from flying off and was trying to stop himself from going downhill. I didn't see a Palm rep there, but that phone must have been at least in 30 peoples hands, and people were asking them what they thought of it. I didn't see anyone wearing Palm clothing, but I found out from another guy that just got done using it that they asked him to tell them what they thought of the new phone. I was trying to find out who the heck it was so I can also play with it. But every time I would get to the the people that were just using the phone, the rep moved on to someone else. It was frustrating. att_agent. I find it very offensive that you'd be so pessimistic to call people losers and homosexuals at a event that is just for fun and kicks in San Francisco that everyone comes together to have fun an attend. That was pretty ignorant on your part.

att agent did bring up a good point. Why are there young teens with these phones it doesn't make any since?

19. iammclovin804 posted on 14 Apr 2009, 19:23

the one i saw was in the hands of a kid who looked to be about twelve. it was interesting to see the pre in an ocean of iphones.

McMillian, You must have not read my post right underneath att_agent's. They were getting people to try it out and tell them what they thought of it. Not just kids.

The guy that took these pics...banana somthing said these guys were in their 20's and have had the phones for a few weeks. He said they told him at first they did not care for the phone but they have been receiving updates as Palm releases fixes and additional features and as of a week or so ago the phone is now much better and about ready to launch.
