Porsche Design-ed Mate 9 comes with dual edge display, 6 GB RAM and a whopping price

Along with the "regular" Mate 9, Huawei today announced a Porsche Design version, with a design crafted from the world-famous studio. Naturally, it is going to be an "exceptional" and "limited edition" version that will go for a higher price than the ordinary Mate 9 phablet. So, what are the differences?

For starters, this will be the rumored "curved screen" version of the Mate 9, meaning that it has a flexible AMOLED screen that is wrapped towards both sides of the glass and metal fusion body, like on the S7 edge. The back is also curved symmetrically with the front, and meets at a point that is just 3mm thick, which Huawei calls "visual thinness."

The Porsche Design-ed Mate 9 sports a 5.5" diagonal, and comes in an OLED form with Quad HD resolution - you know, just like the S7 edge. Other than that, it shares the new Kirin 960 chipset that ships with blazing A73 cores, beating even the Snapdragon 821 when it comes to raw power, but upgrades the RAM to 6 GB, and the storage to 256 GB. It also has the same Leica-stamped camera duo on the rear, but the finger scanner has been moved to the front here.

That's all fine and dandy, but how much for the bad boy? Well, come Christmas you can get it as a present for yourself in Porsche Design Stores for € 1,395, and we wouldn't even want to translate this price in dollars.
