The day of the iPad 2 has come! Now you can order the iPad 2 from Apple.com or start preparing for the lines, which are expected to form around 5pm your local time when the tablet goes on sale in Apple Stores, as well as Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart retail stores nationwide...

I think someone mass voted for the HoneyComb table. I got on at one time and it was at 200 and i got on 20 minutes later and it was at 600. I find it hard to belive that 300 people voted in 20 mins when 700 total people voted when the poll was open for a few days...

Ah, so you went back in to see if YOU could vote again.... Tsk Tsk Tsk.

No, I have an account, I can't vote twice. I thought you would be smart enough to figure that out but I guess that's not true.

And I have passed Calculus 3, but you would not be able to tell by my math in my 1st post :p

You do realize that Android smartphones in Q4 of 2010 outsold iPhones by a margin of 2 to 1 and it's the #1 mobile OS in US, Europe and the world?
With that in mind, is it hard to think that Android has a following and that those users just might prefer an Android Honeycomb tablet?
Also, Archos is the #1 tablet in France for tablets under 400 euros--they are generally always sold out as soon as they get into the stores. In other words, if there is an Archos tablet next to an iPad the Archos is chosen. However, Apple can out produce little Archos easily so they always have iPads available and therefore sell many more.
Believe it or not but the iPad isn't the end-all-be-all of tablets.

Oh I have an Android, I am a Droid man, I was just making a general statement about the voting.
I will never own an iPad or a table at all. I am a good ole fashion Laptop guy.

Who vote for the answer that iPad is a giant iPod and he want something smaller? :D Hahaha..:D you want only bigger iPod not giant, dont you?
5. roldefol (Posts: 3181; Member since: 28 Jan 2011)
I took that to be a two-part answer: a) the iPad is a just a giant iTouch and b) it's too big! I'd take a 7" Honeycomb or WebOS tablet.

I'm going to wait and check out the Blackberry Playbook first....if it ever gets out of the factory door.

Am I the only one annoyed that vzw.com won't let you compare the iPad side-by-side with the Xoom? (Or the iPhone 4 with any smartphone for that matter?) It's as if Apple and Verizon want you to think the iPad is not a tablet and the iPhone is not a smartphone.

What irritates me more is that even the header for the site sets iPhone apart from every other product category it lists. It's like acquiring apple products increased Verizon's douche factor by 500%, but I'm sure it's just a requirement put forth by Apple. On top of that is that last time I checked the iPhone was the only smartphone available with a perfect five star rating. And the reviews themselves are just as uninformed and douchey as you would think.

maybe it's getting better reviews by everyone website BECAUSE it's a better phone. The reason everyone gives them special treatment is because Apple has a great product and if you work with Apple you make money. The only thing holding up AT&T was the iPhone. Now that Verizon has it AT&T is in trouble.

I was talking about the user reviews on Verizon's website. The iPhone is a solid product, but it's not the best by a long shot. And to say that iPhone was the only thing holding up AT&T in revenue is wrong. The profit margin on the phones themselves is ridiculously small for indirect retailers, so the ones like mine don't even bother to push them really. AT&T will get along just fine without it, especially now that they're taking network quality seriously.

That's what apple does. haven't you noticed that in best buy they have their own little area. they don't want their products next to the competition. apple lives off hype and marketing and if you can test things side by side and read the specs side by side then you would make an informed decision--apple does not want that!

I know. The AT&T store I just started working for refused to showcase the iPhone and we absolutely don't sell the iPad. Why? Because Apple wanted us to buy a 2600 dollar display for each one of our stores in order to do it. And combine that with the horrible profit margin, you have a recipe for a very low return on investment. Even the UPS store where I work my second job gets screwed by Apple; to process their returns we have to pack the equipment in a very specific way, and they pay us jack to do it.

I'm amazed at how many companies keep dealing with apple's bs and don't just tell them to stick it.

ios is a gmaing platform thats why people buy it =p
14. p0rkguy (Posts: 684; Member since: 23 Nov 2010)
No, iOS is a minimal platform. Apple believes that it's all you'll ever need, the basics of everything.

I wouldn't buy iPad for one simple reason: iTunes. Because you have to depend on iTunes while you're using iPhone/iPod/Apple TV, I sold my Apple TV. I still use iPod, but only because I have lots of music on it without original tracks. I also do not have iPhone anymore (iTunes+reception). I am pretty happy with my Captivate and IF I decide to buy tablet it will only be Android powered device.

I think you're right...on my travels I see babe in stroller with his pad, guy on airplane playing Angry Birds...

I think I may skip a tablet altogether and get the Atrix with its laptop dock. Plug and play processor; if the dock is made compatible with future android phones you have an infnitely upgradeable netbook. With an 8 hour battery.

honeycomp tablet is a fucking tablet for ever I hate google because google want to copy everything from apple inc. and samsung too.
28. tkaew (unregistered)
If you think honeycomp is the copied product, can I say Apple copied that tablet idea from very first windows tablet with that keyboard can turn around? Apple makes it better doesn't it? I think it's the same with Andorid too.
