Poll: Which Android mobile browser do you use?

0. phoneArena 21 Jul 2014, 05:25 posted on

It's safe to say that whatever you think it is you mostly engage in with your Android smartphone, browsing the web accounts for a significant chunk. Indeed, the luxury of having access to the all-knowing Google search engine and the entirety of the World Wide Web at you fingertips is quite the draw for most. And that's understandable...

Chrome is the fastest and best in Android OS or iOS either

Safari is the fastest/best on iOS due to restrictions put on place by Apple. It prevents the browser to use a faster script which only they can use in their browser.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Mozilla-No-Firefox-browser-for-iOS_id40690

That's how they've built their success of 'most advanced OS' (in general consumers eyes' at least) not by competing but by restricting the competition.

Well, that's your opinion. At least the one on my Note 3 feels like cr@p in every aspect compared to Chrome. Though I have to say that I'm bit of a Chrome fanboy.

The stock browser on the Droid Charge was pretty bad in speed of loading pages and had some other rendering issues as well. Not sure if that's still the case on Samsung phones.

If you didn't realize, l have the Note 10.1(N8000) which is far more inferior in every aspecs than your Note 3 but still have a pleasant browsing experience with the native browser.

You haven't used Dolphin Jetpack if you're saying this.

Dolphin Jetpack used to be they best browser, but the last couple of updates have blown. It's become unresponsive, locks up, stutters... I stopped using is just last week. On this particular site (phonearena), suddenly no links will click. The home page will scroll, but I can't click on any story to read it. I also can't back button out, or if I can, no more pages will load. I have to leave via the home button and force it closed in settings.

I haven't found a replacement I like as much, unfortunately.

I havent updated to their new UI. I'm still using the last version with the old style tabs and side swipe for bookmarks. Not a single other browser comes close. I have tried EVERY other browser out there and chrome is choppy and unresponsive.

True about the unresponsiveness, locks up, and stutters after the latest updates. But even with these I still find jetpack much more reliable than any other browser. Chrome is still the most stable but personally I sill use Jetpack.

"Chrome is the fastest and best in Android OS or iOS either"

Chrome may be one of the faster browsers, but "best" is more subjective. I find Firefox performs well and offers a great selection of addons. And I like supporting open source. Chrome is not open source.

Firefox is very nice, but I can't get past the scrolling, which while very smooth, is too slow.

Opera Mini FTW. Though the browsing experience is subpar, it saves me money by heavily compressing the pages unlike chrome which hardly saves any data even when bandwidth management is switched on

Currently using the stock browser on my HTC One M8 with Dolphin and Chrome close behind. Chrome still has some performance, rendering and formatting issues for certain sites and it takes a while for it to clear cache and other data compared to the others. Google really needs to listen to the conplaints for both Chrome and Maps.

the Motorolas Razr M and Moto X have to make do with Chrome and Dolphin.

I use opera mini for most of the browsing, and uc/dolphin for some sites which dont renders well on opera mini.......... Chrome is big memory and RAM eater, i will never use it again, till google optimize it more for mobile device, and it starts supporting flash, btw i also tried firefox and found it faster than chrome in rendering pages even of heavier sites, and with its multiple add-ons, its very nice to use it.....

Opera Mini. I've been using it since my Sony Ericsson W800i Walkman Phone back in 2006, in every phone I've had.

Opera Mini remains the most efficient browser both in data and power consumption, as well as Memory, I thoroughly enjoy using it.

I use Chrome mainly for syncing bookmarks with my desktop and even more importantly it remembers all of my open tabs every time, even after restarting a phone. Stock Android browser made me go ape sh** so many times when my phone does RAM auto-clear and next time I start a browser it shows most used page only. And then I have to spend 1h searching through history to find all pages that were open before because some were first opened over a month ago.

I use CM Browser (Cougar- I think?). It's really fast and has the most beautiful UI I've ever seen for a mobile browser! Only issues I've had are backtracking to webpages from full-screen videos, but it's barely noticeable! It's small sized and packs a punch! Give it a try!
