0. phoneArena 10 Dec 2012, 01:18 posted on

A flaw in Apple Maps is potentially life-threatening and has left Australian motorists stranded in the Outback for more than 24 hours with no food or drink and no signal on their phone; police in the area have requested that Apple fix the problem...

There can be some people died b-c of Apple maps already b-c only the survivors lived to tell their stories.

I think Apple maps must be banned until the authorities are certain that all life threatening errors are fixed.

The problem is not alone within the app itself. I mean, seriously, it's the iPeople who keeps on using it. Why force themselves to use this crappy map app when they know it's faulty in the first place? Geez..

I see yr point, but many people don't have as much info as us geeks, they will simply use the DEFAULT thing and that's not their fault.

apple does have another solution :)
remove apple maps, take their pride and stick it up their candy-a$$ and revert to google maps :)

So instead of a simple update, u want apple banned. Why don't u go to Cupertino, stand outside of apple HQ, and stand behind your words like a real protester. Or STFU, and continue your pointless bashing of apple on PA.

What part in my post did I mention about banning the iPhone? If it's simple update that you're looking for then Apple could've done that prior to the release of iOS 5 and shoving their own half-baked map app to the iPhone 5. None of these would've happened if the map app was good enough to live up to people's expectation in the first place.

Try to understand one's point first before you respond with pointless replies like that.

@darkii That is actually a great idea. I am genuinely surprised there isn't/wasn't an Occupy-style movement for apple

But I'm still enjoying the Apple map, it has siri integration so that I don't need to walk while looking my phone, I just listen what siri says and I believe siri won't trick me :(

Please Mr police, don't banned the Apple map :(

My phone, still running Gingerbread, has the option for voice navigation on its Google maps application. I really don't see how Siri's ability to speak is anything special.

Great idea, I think we should send Tim Cook to the Aussie Outback with no supplies and let him find way back to civilization using Apple Maps.
