Pokemon GO update adds different patterns for Eggs, type icons shown on info screen

The folks over at Niantic, the developer that recently got very reach after releasing Pokemon GO, have just announced that a new update is available for both the Android and iOS versions of their game.

If you've been following our Pokemon GO news, then you already know that Niantic unveiled a Halloween event that doubles the number of candies trainers receive. In addition, you will encounter certain Halloween-themed Pokemon more often in various regions.

However, this update introduces some changes to the way Eggs are hatched, as well as several minor text fixes. According to Niantic, Eggs will now have different patterns depending on the distance required to hatch them.

While this isn't really a major feature, it's great that your Eggs will now show in different colors, depending on the distance required to hatch them. Not a big deal, but a useful tweak that will help players choose which egg to hatch first.

Secondly, Pokemon type icons have been added to the information screen for each Pokemon, so you can now tell which one is better against a certain type of Pokemon.

For those who purchased Niantic's Pokemon GO Plus accessory, the developer introduced a low battery indicator, so you know when it's time to recharge it.

The update is available for free via App Store and Google Play, so make sure you check for it if you already have Pokemon GO installed on your phone.
