0. phoneArena 28 Nov 2013, 10:50 posted on

Okay, folks, it is time to be less serious for a minute. It is a holiday after all. How about leaving productivity aside for a while and taking a look at some great mobile video games? Good, we knew you'd be all fired up for it! The games we've picked for you today, however, are not just any games. These are ten of the most awesome games that we played this year – ten games that mobile gamers should totally check out, in case they haven't done so already...

This is a discussion for a news. To read the whole news, click here

Real Racing 3 gets my vote, spent about 120 hours playing it, patiently and passionately without spending dime, shortened battery life by 100 cycles. :)

Damn, I could've written that!
It's the only game I play regularly.. for about 20 minutes a day. With a daily and crew bonuses and last race in the Accolade series, I pick up around 140 000$ in one easy race. No need for paying a dime..although I really would like to contribute with real money but I refuse accept their utterly scandalous IAP prices..who in his right mind yould pay 2$ for only 10 gold?
Out of curiosity..what's your garage value?

Btw, I'm really looking forward Real Racing 4..could be the first mobile game with real(pun intended) console graphics and full blown gameplay. Now that RR3 reportedly earned multiple times more than first two titles combined, and EA realizing the full potential of mobile gaming, I think they will go all out with the next installment.

Despite the online-only gameplay of Dead Trigger 2 I am actually liking it... I would add it to this list... (Though it is much harder to upgrade weapons than the previous version)

Bought MC4 because it was on sale and played it until the end in one breath. Other personal favs are Riptide GP 2 and GT Racing 2 (not as blood-sucking as Real Racing 3).

GT Racing 2 is crap compared to RR3.
Physics are horrid and graphics are heavily compromised, when you take a good second look.. lighting isn't even real time dynamic but fixed "dynamic" which is kinda pathetic.

IMHO mobile games are VERY boring. Console gaming FTW!

They have different targets...

Though I recently fixed my N64 Controller and started making Turok 2 single player campaing without cheats... for nostalgia.. Most of my time I end up playing quick mobile games.

Unfrequently I get hook on console gaming... but only for periods of time... on the other hand phone gaming is a quick entertainment anywhere, anytime...

Cool story, bro. I, too, was also one of those "pffffft, mobile games!" kind of guy But truth is you can't take your PS4 to the subway and start playing right away, much less while waiting at the registrar's office in the university. Mobile games are here to stay and they are far more accessible than ever before.

PS: PC gaming ftw.

I'd also like to add that I think of mobile games like they're right now around the N64 era - they're great for their current generation, but are only as robust as its platforms' limitations allow them to be.

Yes, but you CAN take your 3DS or PS Vita in to the subway. And they at least have real games that are actually fun to play.

And you are calling a 3DS or PS Vita a console?!

Buddy, we respect that you like your gameboys nowadays... but as Pancholo said, the accessability of mobile games is unmatched... If I want a new game, I just open the play store and install... voila!...

For consoles you need to go to a physical store, or AT THE VERY LEAST have a wifi connection....

I agree that mobile games are mostly casual, but games like Modern Combat, NOVA, Dead Trigger, Apparatus, CHAOS and "tablet games" like Drisk, Pool Break, FreeCell... all give me more entertainment hours than any console game I have had (maybe with the exception of Super Smash Bros Brawl... a real addiction for me)

And remember that in Android we also have access to Emulators and I flawlessly run games from NES up to N64, paired with Wii Controllers and plugged to TV with microHDMI I have a very cool RETRO console...

I meant Table Games, like monopoly or cards... not tablet. Typo

Asphalt 8: Airborne, Prince of Persia: the Shadow and the Flame, Real Racing 3, Plants vs Zombies: It's about time and FIFA 14 are my favorites.

Asphalt 8 looks so supercool.
