PhoneArena Awards 2012: Worst Tablet

0. phoneArena posted on 12 Dec 2012, 09:57

Slowly but surely, we're on our way to announcing the best smartphone and tablet of 2012. But before we get to them, we'd like to take a look at the other end of the spectrum. Today, we'll talk about tablets - bad tablets, to be more specific, namely the tablets that we were most disappointed by this year. Yeah, we know that nearly all of the tablets we reviewed over the past 12 months were given decent scores, but a couple of them were just meh. Care to know what they are? Okay, enough talking then.

I have the Tab 2....and love using it, especially logging into phonearena 5x a day. Lol :-)

Yea I had no reason to get a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 to replace my original 10.1. Some things were taken off in comparison to the original 10.1.

really iphonearena? GALAXY TAB 2 is the worst tablet? Now you SHOW YOUR TRUE COLORS. Wonder why the ipad isn't rated the worst tablet?

iPad mini should be in the list. I was planing to purchase this tablet as a gift for my brother. But what we got? is only smaller iPad 2 no retina with same processing power (disappointing...) and new connector as the only "innovation" i've seen so far and yea it's expensive of course.

No retina.... So it has a low pixle density. Don't use the word "retina" it means nothing

I think I agree with these awards, though I believe iPad Mini should hae been added. Why? PA compared Tab 2 to earlier model. True, may be its not a worthy upgrade. But what about Mini. Nexus 7 was already around. Many other 7 inchers were. But somehow mini had the worst display and mediocre hardware. Add value for money. Boom! Mini deserves to be here if comparison was being done. It was a disappointment to many looking forward to it. All said and done, imo, iPads are still the best tablets. All iPad have good battery life and awesome performance. Android still needs to be tablet optimized. I hope Key Lime Pie will solve that. Advantages of android are still unexploitable owing to pre mature ecosystem compared to iOS's. I hope nexus 10 will give it the much deserved boost.

Why all the sudden PA decided to have a 'Worst' Category? All previous awards have been the 'best'. I'm more keen on reading Best Tablet than Worst Tablet. Why PA?

I have a iPad 3 and a Gslate, so I can afford both :-) now... Who gives a s**t

So a "Marginally Better" upgrade to iPad 3 secured itself the second spot in the best tablets, and a "Marginally Better" Galaxy Tab 10.1 is on the worst tablets list?! Clearly PA you are not biased. :)
