PhoneArena Awards 2012: Worst Phone

0. phoneArena 14 Dec 2012, 11:09 posted on

Our frequent readers are probably well informed as to which of the phones currently on the market are good and which aren't. After all, it is our duty to review as many of them as possible and then tell you which handsets you should avoid or purchase in case you're out looking for one. Speaking of which, the great majority of the phones we got to play with over the past 12 months were actually very decent devices. Some of them, however, weren't that well executed, and today we'll tell you about the ones that underwhelmed us the most...

Look at you insulting him just because he isnt bending to your blind hate. You only won't him to hat the iPhone and praise android.

When there is one good thing or non negative comment towards apple you straight away brand them and insult them......its pathetic why don't you stick to pro android sites you will fit in well with your bias

Not always. But recently yes, remember, not to long ago Bob was the best. But when apple introduced the og iPhone the clowns that ran rim decided to just keep putting out the same thing. Then the storm came, no pun intended, and bb got left behind. Yes the iPhone is the original bb killer.

Thank you for the ariticle great job writing it. i might not agree with the verizon nexus being one of the worst phones but i can understand why its in this catagory even though over all my experience with the verizon nexus was quite pleasant. as for those that believe iphone 5 should be on the list due to durability I refer to gs3 for problems with the frame cracking on some of them. not every phone is going to be shipped without damage especially when they have ship massive amounts at a time to keep up with demand.as for the other problem of ios 6 being buggy etc i can not think of any thing to refer to at the current time.

Another couple of phones that deserve mentions are the Spectrum (piece of crap) and the ion. The ion is still on Gingerbread and was released when every other manufacturer was releasing ICS phones.

I agree with the Intuition being on this list, but my big gripe wasn't its aspect ratio. How about the fact that there was nowhere to put the stylus? The phone was so clearly a cheap Note ripoff that it was pathetic.

Well said sniggs. I had my eye on the ion too, I was very disappointed with that one.

I'll give it to Michael. At least after he writes an article he comes out guns a blazing in the comments section defending what he wrote. That's admirable.

Michael I have to say it, I feel bad for you, you really aren't biased at all, but ironically it always seems to be you catching the most flack.

Props man, I couldn't do this job and keep a cool head like you can.

I never slated him. And personally I could care less what any body says on this site. I don't play both sides I go for what I like and say what I mean and ignore all the b.s that comes from both sides. Unlike you, I don't have time to be p.a's knight in shining armor. And besides michael is big boy, he can defend himself. I was just simply complimenting his over all level head ness he keeps. Unlike most people, apple's success or lack thereof doesn't make one bit of difference in my life. But that doesn't change the fact that I disagree with the gnex being put in this article. But that doesn't mean I'm going to go out of my way to personally attack people. Especially Mr. Heller in this case, who didn't even write this article.

haha calm down kid, love how you lie its classic

lets see where to start

''But that doesn't mean I'm going to go out of my way to personally attack people''

you do, look at how you replied to my comment in your fanboy way so dont try act cleaner then clean your as bad as the ones insulting him

''Unlike you, I don't have time to be p.a's knight in shining armor''

haha yeah im some knight in shining armor, this is pathetic. you class someone who isnt acting like you immature kids crying about the whole nexus update been mentioned as trying to be some hero.......you seem to have enough time to cry about that.

michael is a big boy, so that justifys the one sided biased state the comments section is in, the insults and obsessive abuse on the iphone. you act like this phone is the devil, like it killed someone you know.

and why do you only bring up the iphone? why not other android phones? there are many bad ones, or windows phones? its always the iphone

obsessed with it arent you, never happy unless its slated. say one good thing about you swarm in to insult the person that commented

Huh???? Who is this MichaelHeller??? I thought the Phone Arena Staff initial their last names. The official person would be 'Michael H.' is it not?

The official policy of the site is that we don't put our last names on article bylines, but it's up to us what our PhoneArena username will be for the comment section.

As I've said many times, I hate the standard of anonymity on the Internet. I think all it does is give a shield for people to be assholes to each other and not have to take responsibility for what they say. Anonymity ruins the possibility for discussion, because people feel like it gives them the right to be inconsiderate and obstinate. I take full responsibility for everything I say, and part of that is attaching my full name to it.

I understand. Thank you for that swift response.
I just couldn't believe it at first that a staff, is commenting on an article(s) in a...very...active way. Unprecedented that's all.

I like being active in the comment thread. If nothing else it helps me see other perspectives, and hopefully become a better writer. I don't think that blogging is all about broadcast, it's about discussion.

Despite Sprint having a nonexistient 4G LTE network, I'm pretty happy with my Galaxy Nexus. It's truly a pure Android experience and it came in the 32GB flavor.

The Note 2 is superior to the original Note in just about every way. Its T Mobiles fault for trying to sell it so late in the game. Its also Verizons fault for the delay updates. Google had it all ready for it but it was Verizon themselves who delayed. So really you cant blame the phones.

i know the intuition is big and goofy to mostly everybody but i used the phone (intuition) for a couple of weeks and i must say it was not a bad device at all. It was excellent for web browsing. And believe it or not it actually fit in my pocket.Although bulky i was rather impressed.

Hi michael, I gotta agree with the first part of the list, and the Note from T-mobile. But, what I should say is that nexus from verizon doesn't make it a "worst" phone or even honored as one just because of update issues. It is understood to have a later update than an unlock version because they have to at least test the phone for better customer service. I don't see this as a factor that would make a phone be categorized as worst. A simple edit would suffice.

Also, people who says that phonearena is being biased not including iPhone on the list, why?

Why is iPhone should be on the list. It's fast and the premium quality stands out from the rest. You people sicken me. I don't like iPhone but that doesn't mean i hate it that much that it should be categorized as "worst phone".

Please calm down and stop being a fanboy for once.
