0. phoneArena 15 Nov 2013, 12:07 posted on

The world's largest producer of drugs has written a prescription to its employees, and it might have read "An Apple (or Android) a day keeps the BlackBerry away." Actually, Pfizer sent out a memo to its large work force of roughly 92,000 telling those that are using a BlackBerry handset to switch to an Apple iPhone or Android model whenever they have the opportunity to upgrade with their carrier...

So much for focusing on corporate sales. I wonder what is plan B for BB/RIM? Change their name back to RIM? Or?

Yup, lets switch to Android in case Blackberry fails. Nevermind the fact that company data will end up being hacked and/or compromised. Very smart ;o)

that's a big nail in the coffin.

within 2 years, blackberry will be reduced to BBM en Entreprise service that they will adapt for Android and Iphone.

You don't need an Enterprise Service for Android & iPhone, these utilize ActiveSync.

It's sad to see companies once so big slowly and steadily going down.

He also said that many Blackberry apps are being shutdown, e.g. Bank of America's.

Must adapt to change. Survival of the fittest!! BlackBerry had their day. even Apple has had their "better" day and eventually will be like Blackberry!

I'd agree with this, but there's iPhone fans and probably always will. The iPad is my favorite tablet out of them all( I've had galaxy note 10.1, Samsung galaxy tab 3, and iPad Air) My favorite by far was iPad. I think apple will be fine for the next 10 years at least with their tablets as their back-ups. Their phone sales are fine, not the best.

Apple also has computer, music player and tablet business and all are doing well, so Apple is safe. Their phones sell well, are good and best of all, have high satisfaction rates, unlike BB.

I still love my BlackBerry Q5, I will stop using a BlackBerry phone when only when the company stops manufacturing phones and there not in existence and am sure that will never ever happen! I hate phone arena, they never have any positive new about my brand!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless Bloomberg publishes the memo we can only imply what was recommended:

“In response to declining sales, the company is in a volatile state,” New York-based Pfizer told employees in a memo obtained by Bloomberg News. “We recommend that BlackBerry clients use their BlackBerry devices and plan to migrate to a new device at normal contract expiration.”

As you can see their is no mention of apple or android.

The obvious alternative is IOs and Android, no need to give names come on now!

I just took a job at a new company that has a mix of blackberry phones and iphones for management. I requested a blackberry and was told that they aren't being distributed anymore. They gave me the 4s. Meh.
