why is itunes such a big deal? why pay for it when its free?? sounds like Itunes is a bad deal to me. dont forget there are also MP3 music downloading programs like Music Junk that act just like limewire, on android. Why oh why do i want itunes when what I DL is free? like the radio? flycast. custom playlists? slacker and pandora. like sattelite? Serius XM. Wanna dl free songs? MusicJunk. What the hell does itunes do again?

Funny thing about android super fans. They are techies. And techies actually don't make up the majority of smartphone buyers. Fo those that are interested in the tech aspects, hacking is usually the course they take. Either rooting or jailbreaking. Funny Thing is it's the same thing. Hacking both allows for custom roms dual booting accessing higher system functions. And a few other things. So on those terms it's equal. I've seen jailbroken iPhones with widgets and custom themes and sounds. I seen the video of an iPhone that dual booted with android. I've seen snes emulators on both. When it comes to that field the handsets are equal. However techies are a small portion of smartphone buyers. Most want a smooth and fun experience from touchscreen smartphones. With plenty business support. Both offer exchange support. But apple has done so much more to integrate more exchange features. Apple has more apps to sway ppl with and yes the layman is attracted by that. Point is, u just have to see that these arguments are completely useless and futile.

"Point is, u just have to see that these arguments are completely useless and futile." talk to me next year when Android has a 30% market share and Apple is scrambling to regain it's lead

I highly doubt Android will have a 30% market share by next year. While I will hate on Apple fanboys as much as the next guy "clevername" is absolutley correct. Advertising made the iPhone what it is today and it will continue to dominate the masses. Ask any non-technophile person on the street what the best cellphone is and I can guarantee that a vast majority will say the iPhone. The next highest majority will say the Droid. And if you mention android anything else, they will still think you are talking about the Motorola Droid. I think Verizon could be causing some confusion to normal people by having a good portion of their phones carry the droid moniker. Advertising works. Everyone wants to keep up with the Jones and they buy what they see on tv.

"Funny thing is"...i'm not a techie, but i like Android...and the stock Android...not these rooted devices. "Funny things is"...i don't dislike Apple, but i dislike Applets pretendin like their OS is the only good OS. "Funny thing" this is...iPhone has no exchange advantages over Android, no...not all Android devices have exchange capability but several do. Look how many diff. variations there are...an Android to accommodate all walks of life...which the "funny thing is"...is that you feel like only a certain category (techie) likes Android. "Funny thing is"....." Point is, u just have to see that these arguments are completely useless and futile..." what kinda B movie, video game dialogue is that? You seriously talk like that? Wow...

With the all the new open sorce Android phones Verizon doesn't need the iPhone. All your getting with the iPhone is the brand, phones like the new Droid X coming to Verizon can run laps around the iPhone.

If Verizon were to get the Iphone, I doubt it will really impact their sub numbers, they're already the most populated carrier, and I really doubt T-Mobile and Sprint users are going to scramble over to Verizon if they haven't done so to AT&T already after THREE YEARS. Verizon was smart with how they marketed Droid, the Motorola Droid was a huge success, Droid Incredible would have been if not for the AMOLED shortages (by the time they can get that thing back in stock, we'll be seeing Droid 2 and Droid X popping up, so what's the point?), and the Droid Eris did pretty well for itself too. Plus, Verizon would have to pay Apple a portion of their data revenues, like AT&T does, they dont have to do that with the Droid phones, and new phones are coming out every month basically, so if they just ride the wave Droid will take over Apple. I can see the numbers being toe to toe this time next year (Apple might have maybe 5% lead in market share), and this time 2 years from now, Android will be the dominate market leader, Apple probably will only have about half the market share. People think that Apple is going to sell more phones by branching out to other carriers, but I doubt the sales numbers are really gonna be that much better, if people wanted an Iphone that badly, they had plenty of opportunity to go to AT&T.
