Pebble smartwatch sold 275,000 units prior to Best Buy sellout

The Pebble smartwatch has been setting records since it raised over $10 million on the Kickstarter crowd-funding site; despite problems that were killing off particular units earlier this year, a majority of Pebble owners love the watch, especially since an SDK was released for the device which allows third party developers to offer alternate faces and apps for the device...

I really do wonder how many people that ordered one actually received it? I watched on Bloomberg a couple weeks ago that those who ordered the white version are still waiting.
But I am interested in buying one, but just not sure if I should wait for Samsung, Sony, or even Apple.

You should probably wait. Pebble "smart" watch isn't really "smart" yet because it is one of the earliest products and it is pretty limited. You should probably wait for the big boys to produce or wait for someone to put out a revolutionary smartwatch or non-handheld product (Google Glass).

Considering that I already wear glasses (prescription), I'll will probably will indeed wait for the the big boys. Just wish they would kind of speed up the process considering that I am really interested in a smart watch. I think Google Glass is a good concept as well, but I think it's a little too soon for the market, IMO.

DONT buy it!!!! it does not have good quality control as Sony or Samsung just go to bestbuy and read the comments...the watch break around 1 hour of use

i want to get a Pebble for myself but i want a grey one so i think i'll hold out a little longer.

I pre-ordered a Black model back in March. Got a nice email telling me that instead of fulfilling my pre-order, they'd decided to ship a bunch of inventory to Best Buy so lots of people who didn't pre-order could get one sooner! I sent an email to customer service and asked so... people who didn't pre-order can go and buy one... But I pre-ordered one of that color, but you can't fill my order... I asked why should I care about Pebble as a company if that's an indication of how you treat customers. I got back a reply which was word for word a copy of the first email.
If that's how Pebble's customer service works... I really don't want to deal with their tech support.
