I had to join just so I could comment on this one!
Although I can't say this 100% because as you said kickstarter doesn't comment on the reason for suspension, this was more than likely suspended because it turned out that the campaign 'creators' did not have anything to do with the product!! Their only involvement is with the creation of the skins. Even the app they show pictures of is ripped off and currently available on the apple App Store under the name 'Unieye'.
The version 2.1 was not created for the indiegogo campaign. If they stated that to you it's a lie. Their last kickstarter update before the campaign was suspended is when they announced version 2.1.
They announced these changes in a last ditch effort to make their product look different from the product they had ripped off for the campaign and more than likely these changes will not be in the final product.
The distributor pack perk would be a big waste of money because you will not be able to re-sell these at the suggested retail price of 269.99. These are currently available on eBay for anywhere from $95-$107. Search ebay for unieye and you will find the exact same item. Creators are simply purchasing them from china and reselling them (for profit) as if they had developed it.
Also, they admitted all this on tumblr page just to delete once they saw all the pledges being cancelled!! Check the kicktraq daily data and you will see the backers pulling out before the campaign was cancelled.
Now I ask you, knowing that the product already exists do you not find it misleading/dishonest to try to get $500 out of people to test pre-production models when it's already produced and for sale commercially?
Don't make these guys out to be the victim of kickstarter when the real victims here are the people they are scamming.
In my opinion this also makes indiegogo looks really stupid.

Nice article, except (as DonnyK already said) you didn't mention anything about the uproar in the comments section of the -now suspended- Kickstarter campaign.

I would love your insight on the matter, as you are a tech-press journalist.

Having seen the communications between the creators and Kickstarter, there was active dialogue between the two and the creators followed the guidance of the service. Kickstarter was well aware of the project's progress. It is rather "convenient" that things would suddenly change.

donnyk thanks joining phonearena.com your position is untrue. you obviously do not take into account the challenge of ODMs and building products. nor do you give a fair assessment of what happened or understanding to the project.
citizen3rased the project was not suspended because of claims donnyk purports. KS knew of PS competitors, as the parashoot team communicated to them openly to their support staff, and they were very positive about the project - which had undergone several approval processes. there was another reason why it was suspended, which obviously no one will ever know.

So basically, this camera is great to secretly capture girls in bikini. what a dump project, nowadays pro cameras with pro features and displays are slimmer and a bit larger than this cam, and for adventures GoPro is the ultimate.
