Have you ever used a palm pre? It multitasks even better than android, its as responsive as an iphone, and its hardware is better than most blackberries. I think before you draw conclusions, you should consider a real life comparison because "places" has nothing to do with what a phone and its OS brings to the table. I've had an iphone, blackberry curve, omnia, and a pre and if I had to pick which one I'd use everyday... it would hands down be the pre.

glen, the webOS is great! it's still a little undercooked like any brand new OS and it's not the end all be all to phones but it is a great addition to any carrier's lineup. winmo devices, i couldn't agree with you more though haha. like that damm iphone, it's just PLAIN FUN to use. this should be a solid pair of phones on a solid network. and to get in my licks.... IPHONE BASH! IPHONE BASH! hahaha

i've played with the pre quite a bit, i've owned a treo, omnia, centro, 6900, curve, storm & now a Droid (was even an i-phone owner for a week, then i realized that AT&T sucked at my house)... I think i know enough about smartphones for my comment to be informed. Web os is a huge setp up from the treo & centro, but it's too little too late. And while you would pick a pre first, what us internet geeks have to consider is that we're the vast minority and the people that move units, the average user, have all but abandoned Palm

Used the Pre on Sprint for a little while, canceled after two weeks and went to the Tour. While WebOs was...decent at best, the hardware was awful and felt cheap. The keyboard lacked sufficiently and the ringer was nearly non-existent. The speaker phone, both internal and external did not perform well in less than quite surroundings. With that, the phone has good looks but its functionality did not live up to the hype for me. Maybe others had a better experience but I would NOT purchase this phone again.

will never happen "dense", the requirement for data was set by cm supply and demand, unfortunatly in this new age the bar has been reset at data...

well it would make sense that a phone which's platform is WebOS requires data.
