Pretty sure it was mistake. My company hasn't made any chipsets for this. It's probably loaded in there because it's available through Alltel, but Not the Verizon side. I just asked a friend that works as a Manager for a Verizon store and he said that the only thing he see's is just the Alltel one. Nothing for VZW if your out of the Alltel market area.

Actually, I've seen verizon branded 800w's for months now. It is quite a mystery to me, as there has been NO word about this phone coming to Verizon whatsoever. A gentleman brought this phone to my store back in September, in a search for accessory's for his 800w. I looked at it and before I could say "we don't even have carry that phone, so we wouldn't have any accessory's", I noticed the "Verizon Wireless" logo. Apparently a select few businesses who are vzw subscribers pushed for this phone...and got it. I'm still unsure what the official word is.

This is what I thought. It's just kinda weird that there was no word about it at all.

Are you a verizon store? I have an alltel treo pro (never been activated) and verizon says I can't add it to my plan - but it's never a decisive decision, always a
