Palm Pre to arrive at Best Buy Mobile in June?
The Boy Genius is reporting that Best Buy Mobile will be getting a limited inventory of Palm's soon to be popular phone. The rumor floating around is that the giant retailer is eyeing June 7 as their trial launch for the Pre with about 4,500 units being spread throughout their stores. There is even a glimpse to the pricing which is looking to be $199.99 for new customers signing on with a 2-year contract. Existing customers who are eager and eligible to upgrade will pay $299.99. If you're the type to not commit to a contract, it's looking to cost you a whooping $999.99 for it. So far that's what the rumors are saying for the price point. It may be a little extreme, but at least Best Buy offers instant rebates to ease the pain rather than mail-in ones.

I'm getting so sick of this. Why is Palm being so vague about the pre? We know when it might be coming to Best Buy, we know that some customers can get the phone early,we know about possible pricing, we know that there is going to be a mini-version launch this year, we know about the similar palm Eos, we know that employees are already training with the phone, and we know that a large shipment has already arrived at Louisville or some place like that. But when are we going to get the freaking release date?!?!? There's so much information that Palm is throwing at us and most of the information isn't even meaningful.

I feel you bro ! It's about time for a announcement! I figure If Best Buy is really getting it in June 7th, retail stores would probably getting it at least a week before. Even if it's june 7th an official announcement would be cool.

actually we dont know any of this its all speculation and guesses from unreliable sources and most of it has been proven wrong

true but the point is that palm still has yet to confirm a release date.

I don't think this post is credible, but Best is known for having a High price tag for phone without contract. The instinct is 449.99 in retail Store and 599.99 in Best Buy.

The company is setting itself up for failure. For a company 100% relying on a single phone just to stay afloat they seem to not be interested in giving us ANY information about it besides "lul its awesome"

-You have all the info you need !! just not a release date...

I've heard that the retail stores will have them May 31st with a very limited supply

-It should be around that time. Even though Palm is pretty confident about this device and the hype is high, I don't think they'll take any chance. They'll put a limited supply like you said and see how it does. If it hits...huge supply after that. I don't think they can afford a huge amount yet anyway..lol.

Sprint prepares to be the exclusive carrier of the Palm Pre. The iPhone competitor will be ready to launch by Saturday, May 16, according to a company planning document leaked to Engadget.
