Paid app ownership on Android rose significantly this year, survey says, satisfaction with Samsung up too
0. phoneArena 29 Aug 2012, 07:23 posted on
The SwiftKey team made a survey raffle recently, and quite a few people participated, with 14, 000 answering a question how many paid apps they have downloaded on their phone. It turns out that the amount of people who actually pay for apps in Android land, is growing from last year to this one, to the extent that it is now much closer to iOS, which is usually the focus of attention for devs that want to get paid for apps...

"Even Apple" why is this company so over hyped? The iphone from day one lucks so much functionality and still does. I wonder why people even say they are satisfied with an iphone. The brainwash is just too much.
5. TheLibertine (Posts: 484; Member since: 15 Jan 2012)
And the much lower satisfaction rates of other manufacturers also are brainwashing?... Just swallow the fact like a man: the iPhone satisfies its costumes the most.

costumes? Well, Halloween is around the corner. People want simple, but, once they have a high-end Android phone they realize what they missed...used to be an iphone owner missed out on MMS and cut and paste.

Heh, Sorry. I'm not English-native speaking and misspelled it.
Well, that is your personal expierence, you are allowed to have one. Statistics show what most people think.

What statistics? The iPhone's user rating is far from the top... And I have to agree with @bantheiphone about that. I once owned an iPhone and i was satisfied... But I think we're over rating the word satisfied... That doesn't mean you love it! I means it is acceptable... I now have the Galaxy S3 and i am much more than satisfied! I could never go back to the iPhone

Still no company manages to get roughly 85% very satisfied, all manufacturers except Samsung are far behind here.
I had the same expierence with the Galaxy Note and the iPad. I used to be a Fandroid before I realized that iOS is my way.

if you look at the graph, it clearly shows Samsung with like 81-82% satisfaction to apples 84% satisfaction. Now your just splitting hairs, thats a statistical dead heat.
20. TheLibertine (Posts: 484; Member since: 15 Jan 2012)
I do not disagree, how could i when the statistics speak clear language...?
But how can you keep trolling when Apple still makes the best products from customer satisfaction point?
22. remixfa (Posts: 14169; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
me thinks you dont understand what "trolling" is. look at your comments in this page.. thats trolling the article.
I was simply correcting your mistake.
23. TheLibertine (Posts: 484; Member since: 15 Jan 2012)
It was not a mistake in the first place.no company gets as many satisfied customers as Apple does.
I do know what trolling is, ans, yeah, sometimes I do some counter-trolling like I did on twens' comment.
24. remixfa (Posts: 14169; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
technically, by sheer numbers, samsung would have more satisfied customers than Apple. Its all how you want to spin it. Samsung sells way more phones than Apple yet has a 2% or so less satisfaction rate. And considering Samsung sells phones from ultra high end to ultra low end, thats pretty impressive.
26. CellularNinja (Posts: 303; Member since: 27 Sep 2011)
Yeah I mean apple makes products for the average person that can't figure out technology. So I would recommend the iPhone.... TO MY MOM!
But Android can do way more (especially the S3) and that is a fact. Because I could prove that my phone can do more than stagnant iOS

I tell you one thing I realized why apple is so popular. In my opinion it is only 1 thing.
Games in Apple store. To me iPhone and iPad is just a gaming console where you will find loads of games. People search for games in Android and results are poor. (own both phone and tablet). You search for particular game on Apple and it will give you hundreds of acceptable quality results.
If you are not child for which Apple is a toy, then you will consider functionality and features and decide to go with other products like android. But unfortunately even grown ups behave like a children and they go for games over the overall experience.
7. TheLibertine (Posts: 484; Member since: 15 Jan 2012)
Yeah... Good point. Games... :/.
Are you serious? Most of the iPad buyers are proven to be male adults. The highest customer satisfaction on the tablet market and the best reviews on every big tech site like The Verge can't be from games alone.
You kind of dishonor Android by bringing the argument that games alone lead to customers being more satisfacted with iOS-products than with Android ones, you know?

huh? Blackberry satisfaction increase? lolol
4. TheLibertine (Posts: 484; Member since: 15 Jan 2012)
Apple still makes the products that satisfy their costumes the most, I'm happy to hear it.
But wtf with HTC and Motorola, they cannot be THAT bad.
And many people like their Blackberries... Cute.

With moto it could be with the locked bootloaders issues - give it another 12 months and Google will have worked its magic with Motorola.

You obviously didn't look at the chart numbers. It covers 60-90 percent levels
6. frydaexiii (Posts: 1239; Member since: 01 Dec 2011)
Hmm, how come nobody asked me if I was satisfied with Samsung?
10. bantheiphonedotcom (banned) (Posts: 28; Member since: 24 Aug 2012)
I still have my Captivate after 2 years - very satisfied with it - especially now with JB on it.

my Viby is a champ with 4.04 on it. going to install ICS on the next ROM update. :)

This survey actually gives a glimpse to an unprecedented potential of android.
Imagine when it's user base reaches 2 billion!!
It will turn into a Eldorado for developers!

The increased Paid App Ownership is due to the porting over to the BlackBerry PlayBook market . It couldn't increase so significantly unless you added a completely new client . They're not afraid to pay for apps . . . foo . . .

TO THE USER (THE LIBERTINE) -
FIrst off Iphone produces 1 make of a phone per year.
Samsung produces 30-40 or possibly more a year.
Samsung has alot more phones to get right and have REPS know anything about.
Iphone has 1 phone to deal with.
So you are a iFAN obviously because many of your post have no common knowledge or any logic. Thanks for sharing.
