For example, a dual LED lozenge shaped flash will be on the new model...

Let's just hope people don't start to believe that apple were 1st with finger print scanner like many things people think apple were 1st in.. Cant wait to see how it's implemented apps wise ie can you use to log in to Twitter fb etc.. Soon we will be reading articles about stolen iPhones and thumbs lol

Christopher Columbus wasn't the first to discover 'Murica but like Dark said... People knew about him so he got credit. Maybe other companies should do better in the marketing department.

I was thinking about buying a atrix back then. But then I thought about it having android on it. I never knew it had fingerprint scanning until people start crying and saying apple copyed them.

The atrix was released before android had 80% marketshare.

Why buy this if just in a couple of months more the galaxy s5 or something else will come out and then apple will make the iphone 6 just a way to make you spend more money on the same specs of hardware

So we are all excited over a finger print scanner? Besides security how does this rock the mobile world? Innovation is at an all time low. How about a phone that works well, has a great battery, great call quality, and camera with some actual helpful features that are useful.

Not to mention the number of fingerprints NSA can now match against the personal data they have already collected. I think it is funny that people freak out about giving up their personal data are all excited about giving Apple their fingerprint to go along with their home address, phone number, email address, credit card info..... I'm sure Apple's servers will never get hacked nor will they allow any outside agency access their data bases. Apple always thinks the customer comes first

I got some bad news for you Fallout09. The NSA already have access to YOUR fingerprint. Google is also one of the biggest companies that collects/shares data.

Where would the NSA be pulling my fingerprint data from? Never been arrested, my bank doesn't require fingerprint data, not required at my job? Please explain how they obtained this data?

Drivers license, passport, copied from your favorite coffee mug. If the government wants your fingerprint, they will obtain it.

I bet you your tone will be different when another Android manufacturer adds a fingerprint scanner to their mobile device.

I would like to say I would raise the same concerns. I just find it humorous that Microsoft was crucified by making Kinect in an "always on" state with the new Xbox One but Apple gets a pass on fingerprint reader.

Completely don't care either way just wondering.. Do finger print scanners always work? Or is it they don'tread properly all the time

They do not always work. I trust Apple wouldn't release a product that only worked sometimes though. That is why I am exciited for the new Iphone. Not so I can buy one, but to see if Apple has created a scanner that could work close to 100% of the time.

I would definitely buy the new iphone if the batery would be phenomenon like the upgrade they had with their macbook air...
I mean not the same runtime on the macbook but as for a phone the run time that could get you a full day no matter how heavy use it.
