Ovi Store welcomes Skype and Qik Premium
Nokia's on the offense these days. After we just witnessed the official announcement of the Nokia 5230 Nuron for T-Mobile, we now got to know that users of the Finnish manufacturer's handsets have yet another reason to stay loyal. There are actually two reasons - the first is called Skype, and the second is called Qik Premium.

Skype is so popular that it doesn't really need to be introduced. The thing is Skype is now available at Ovi Store, allowing you to place free calls over Wi-Fi and 3G to other Skype users. Check out the relevant source link for the list of compatible Nokia handsets!

While Qik cannot match Skype's popularity as of now, the video sharing service continues to grow its user base. And now the makers of Qik have annoucned a new, paid version, called Qik Premium. What it adds to the experience is the ability to download MPEG-4 video files from Qik's site, as well as enjoy better playback quality and speed. It is also said that there will be other goodies in the future like the ability to upload and share videos shot with the phone's native camera applications, which will be free for those who have purchased Qik Premium. Speaking of purchases, Qik Premium is available for $4.99/year at Ovi Store. This however is said to be a promotional price, so it will probably raise sometime in the future.
