Unless they can actually provide a better all around user experience like Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 do, I don't think it will threaten them. I won't say it's a flop because it's a good idea if you're on a budget and want to play game. The consoles I mentioned above both being above 200+ bucks depending on where you get it. I think it's a great idea.

Yeah, it depends on the price point. But for 200 dollars you can get a Nexus 7 or iPod Touch, for 350 dollars an iPad 2 with twice the graphics power of Tegra 3 and the richest multimedia and gaming-content in the world plus the most popular tablet pc ever. And Androud devices for less than 200 are cheap in very possible sense and buggy.
So i don't see a selling point here.

as far as I heard It was going to be 100 bux and it seems rather interesting. you wont know a thing until the device is released, but with that number of pledges, the media attention and companies backing it up I could see them making something really awesome

i beleive its going to be 100 plus im sure games will be less expensive. also options is always good and you don't have disc based game so you don't have to worry about lossing games. there is alot of pros. i hope they do good you know i want to jump on this ship but i don't really like the name wish they would rename i hope this works out though and ui in the videos they've shown looks awesome..
