A bug in the cpu that causes an email client to crash? Couldn't they find a better excuse? My guess is that they tried to do like google, i.e. push users towards a web based service like gmail (the new outlook.com cannot be a coincidence), because you don't earn anything if your users use the good old email client. The difference is that google gives away its os and services for free, so users accept ads, but if I have to pay a license for an OS you have to provide the essential applications.
