Original T-Mobile myTouch 3G phones to get Froyo upgrade this week

From tomorrow through October 25th, T-Mobile will be rolling out Android 2.2 for users of the original myTouch 3G handsets...

Are OTA updates able to be downloaded through wifi?...i ask because i have a Slide and i am interested in seeing how sense will run on the original mytouch with such small amount of RAM and a little below average processor power, but don't want to take the SIM out of my phone...I appreciate any answers that i get.
