Opera Software and Virgin Mobile USA form partnership

There are many partnerships formed in the wireless world in order to garner strength and exclusivity. Opera Mini has been around for some time and tweaked to provide an intuitive web browsing experience on most mobile phones. Opera Software announced today a special partnership with Virgin Mobile USA which will allow them to distribute their popular Opera Mini web browser on some of Virgin’s handsets. This deal aims to strengthen Opera’s presence as a player in the ever crowded competitive market. The software will be available to download for free as an application on select devices for Virgin Mobile USA prepaid customers through the VirginXL download storefront. The software will also be included on eight handsets initially such as the Slash, Arc, Shuttle, and Super Slice starting on April 14. But it’s a safe bet to see all future phones from Virgin to offer Opera Mini right out of the box.

Opera Mini is one of the best mobile web browsers out there! The only other browser that beats it is Opera Mobile.
