In a heartbeat.
But I wouldn't ditch my desktop just yet...

"So the 256GB version is the only one that's still expected to be available on June 20"

Not exactly correct! both the models will ship on June 20th... however, 'for all new orders' 256 GB version alone will ship on June 20th.

so, for all of you who pre-ordered the 128 GB version in the past, fret not, for you'll get your bad boy just as you expected! :)

That is good. I ordered the 128 i5 the first day it was available and this article bummed me out.

Desktops are still the best overall IMO, especially for productivity and gaming

Based on the upcoming bug fixes, it is probably worth waiting until 8/31 or later to buy one anyway. The first batch is basically for beta testers -- formerly known as "early adopters".

I'd wait until Microsoft make Surface that last upto 10hrs of use (like MBA) and has real windows.

What is the current average battery usage for pro 3?

9 hours is good battery life to me.

How many year old? Current and last generation should last at least 7 hrs.

The Surface pro Intel i5 CPU's have been the work horse CPU for surface computers from the very beginning and will run 90% of Windows soft ware except some high level HD video games and some Computer aided design programs that require a more powerful Graphics chip than the Surface Pro has. The 64 gig SSD C: drive for surface Pro 3 computers should not even be available because Windows 8/8.1 eats up a lot of memory on the SSD C:drive
and leaves too little left to do much work with

The 64000 dollar question is will microsoft bring out a Intel Broadwell CPU surface Pro 3
before the year is out or wait to put it in MX Surface Pro 4 next year. I think it will come out in the 1015 Surface pro 4 around this time next year because by then Intel will be able to fill large orders for them by then

I was worried that only the 128 model was being released. I would get it bit it only comes with 4 gbs of ram. The 256 comes with 8 gbs so that's the one I really want. I didn't pre-order though so hopefully this thing doesn't sell out
