Coz for normal customers, non-sysmetric design like G2 is ugly.
And LG brand is not favorable also.

I love HTC one design and I'm a huge fan of high quality materials and excellent design in smartphones however although the G2 does not meet my level of satisfaction in design and build quality, the phone is that excellent in almost all aspects that I won't care about it's design. Screen size, display, camera omg, back buttons is very innovative, features and battery life are it's pros but it's cons are only design and ugly LG interface but those cons are negligible.

Some people find back buttons to be a deal breaker, no matter how much they try to use it. But more importantly, many people find LG's UI to be a deal breaker... All of this to say that not everyone will find those cons negligible..

I never understood the whole complaining about LG UI. If you don't like it their are hundreds of UI on the market to download. I have had Motorola, HTC, Samsung and LG phone and I never really liked any of those UI. So I just download a UI and customize it to my liking saying the UI is a reason not to buy a phone is a real lazy and pathetic excuse

I forgot I also had the Sony xperia TL the phone from the James bond movie sky fall if their is one UI I do sort of like its Sony. But I still ended up changing that UI to. I just do see why people complain about phone UI. When you can just change them that the power of Android you make it look like and iPhone or windows 8 phone and etc. Thats one of the reasons that makes Android popular the ability to customize the phone the way you want it to be.

Great phone but no support. I almost bought the LG 65" 4K tv but same issue - poor support.. LG promised Android 4.3 just after launch, well its been 4 months now. WTF what gives LG

Exactly!!! LG has a bad rap in the phone industry and doesn't market like Sammy and Apple

Here is what I think. LG needs to stop and copy 'sammy'. If LG wants to start selling they need to either be original (although is a good start placing volume buttons in the back, I'm afraid is not enough); make a phone with premium design and materials...get rid of that ugly skin ( touchwiz lookalike uglyNess). They have the money and power to do it. It's kinda of an wake up call that even sammy can't sell any more of their crap ( perhaps pepole are growing a brain ?!...or they reached brainwashing saturation) so hopefully we get to see a totally different g3 that actually stands out.

enough of these "premium material". The plastic is more robust than Aluminium or metal when it comes to drop tests. (Yes your beloved Aluminium gets scratches)
The look of the phone is fine and as classy as another black material
You only judge by the name
In case you don't know it. Most people don't find plastic and UI ugly as you say. Otherwise galaxy producs wouldn't be successful

I'm sorry if I find a galaxy phone ugly and boring. And I'm also sorry to find touchwiz cartonney, laggy and unattractive. They are indeed successful, theres a lot if people like you out there.

But this is a forum and this is my OPINION.

Why materials and skin matters? It's just a phone and probably the best one to date.

I feel like brand recognition isn't there yet. The G2 is setting the stage though for increasing success over time. Once people hear the name enough, like they do "Galaxy" right now, people will pick up one.

After so many songs about the wonderfulness of G2 and wonderfulness of G2 over galaxy S4 on all tech sites, such a poor sales performance?

Both are great phones, but I'd take Nexus 5. Better price, performance, (my opinion)software. Camera is also good enough for me. G2 is definitely fantastic phone, but I'd take Nexus 5.

Sorry, but the utterly terrible software/OEM skin knocks it well behind what the Nexus 5 offers. The overall user experience is ridiculously behind what the Nexus 5 offers.

Which is absolutely fine. The issue isn't how great stock Android is, the issue is how utterly terrible LG's implementation is.

"utterly terrible" makes me pretty sure that you are nothing more than a troll/hater.
Care to elaborate on what is so terrible about it?

I actually preffer it over the stock Android.
It stomps all over it feature and functionality -wise.
Only minus is the bad design which is kinda cartoony and childish.

How is he a troll/hater? I for one despise the look of Lg's custom user interface. I don't like ui, I don't need the extra functionality and worst of all it slows down the phone and takes a lot of storage space. I prefer stock Android because of it's clean, sleek and elegant looks. It works beautifully and run's ultra smooth. I love stock Android and I will probably never go with any phone with a custom ui ever.

LG's UI IS utterly terrible! Yes, LG's software stomps Stock Android feature and functionality wise, but he said UI!! Which is the design, and it is terrible. Not only is it cartoony and childish, it is also extremely inconsistent.

Problem with some on phorearena is the fact that they talk with their butts instead of talking less and listening more. These dullrads talk jargons like they actually know what they are talking about. Disregard his post please.

Sure. The overall aesthetic is poor and/or outdated/ Subjective perhaps, but a commonly held opinion.

The functionality of certain design choices offers poor tradeoffs. For example, the notification dropdown, where you are able to have only about half the screen available for actual notifications.

Gimmicky features that mimic the gimmicky feature of another manufacturer. Slide Aside is pretty much their version of multi-window, only without the actual tangible benefit.

The crux is that it looks bad, it's functionality can actual hinder your day to day use of the device, and a lot of the features are gimmicky to the point of "use it once, forget about it afterwards".

I don't hate LG or the G2. I'd love for LG to put out a great device and have it be successful. It's better for all consumers if they do. But I won't pretend that this is that device, when it has a lot of inherent software flaws.

The implementation of features that seem half baked or not completely up to snuff. For example, the knock knock feature is actually a great idea, but poorly implmented in that it doesnt function 100% of the time

You can download a different UI and also stock Android UI on the market if you don't like LG UI. I don't get the complaining about UI. If you don't like the UI change it you don't like the keyboard change it you don't like the dialer change it you don't like the color of you notification light change it you don't like the icons change it and etc. I thought this new generation was tech smart this era has the ability to change things to their liking but people keep complaining about how a UI comes out the box.

THye sell well because of so many reasons and factors. Maybe followership, style, pricing, options and varieties, performance. We could go on and on. That is not to take away any of the other factors like territory, crisis... We all are entitled to our opinion and ought not to force it down the throats of those with opposing views.
