OnePlus One's software bugs fixed, shipping starts "as early as tomorrow"
0. phoneArena 12 Jun 2014, 06:09 posted on
Two days ago, we reported that a last-minute software hotfix delayed the launch of the highly-anticipated OnePlus One yet again. The reason behind the implementation of this patch were some serious OpenSSL encryption issues. Cyanogen, the developer of the OnePlus One's firmware, decided that a fix for the bug needs to be implemented before the OnePlus starts shipping for those lucky users that have an invitation...

Haven't been on this site in a while. What is the general climate on this phone? Excitement? I love my Nexus 4 and will be using it until it dies, but this phone sounds pretty nice. Just not sure about the software.

At first everyone was hyped about it.Now everyone is pissed off by the company, because only selected few get it for its cheap price, others can only get it too,but on a higher price. And all the delays are making everyone even more pissed off. So about now everyone hates it.

I dont hate it, its a great phone... cynogen mode is the best android out there... its a new company, new phone... they are not an established brand so things can go wrong in start

You're right. They should learn from xiaomi. Xiaomi is next big thing to happen.

The "climate" on this phone is split. Some people are patient, understand that this start-up company (even if it is a subsidiary of a larger company) has hit some unexpected road-bumps, and eagerly await an amazing phone at a bargain price.
Others (idiots, crybabies) are angry at this company for not fellating them and coddling their tiny sore testicles every step of the way and have "rage quit" (for lack of a better term) and have taken their ball and gone home, refusing to buy this phone even when it becomes widely available.

Calling people names, are we? Especially when it's unnecessary.
8. Planterz (Posts: 1971; Member since: 30 Apr 2012)
So, you're one of the crybabies?
Please, continue to be one. Less people means I get this phone quicker. If you're on a list and you get an invite before me, drop me a line and I'll gladly take it off your hands.

I'm pretty sure you're the one who get the invitation, so you could be proud of it and mock others who are disappointed because they didn't get the invitation.
13. Planterz (Posts: 1971; Member since: 30 Apr 2012)
No, because I'm not an asshole. If/when I get an invitation, it'll be because I'm on a list, and I'll give any invitation(s) I get to the next people on that list. If I mock anybody, it'll be the people who are boycotting this company out of some misplaced feeling of entitlement that isn't being fulfilled. But I'll probably be too busy enjoying my new phone to mock anybody.

No, I never had an interest in the phone.

Asking users questions, are we? Especially when it's unnecessary.

douch planterz it won't be widely available for months it will be oct nov before available, we are mad because after being on the site and kissing ass they dont send out invites you have to kiss other peoples ass to get them, then you have to sign saying you will keep coming back to the oneplus page. the phone is not that good anyways. just played with the galaxy s5 active from att and wow the body and new features on that make it worth it looks like a real mans phone. with military spec design

I'd have a counter-argument if I could decpher the gibberish you're spewing. There's this amazing thing called "language" that people use to communicate, and it involves spelling, syntax, grammar, and punctuation. I suggest that you look into it.
FFS, it's spelled "douche". If you're going to call me a name, at least spell it correctly.

You have to wait MONTHS??? Oh my goodness....how dare they. To actually have wait for something....INCONCEIVABLE!!!
31. Ashoaib (Posts: 3223; Member since: 15 Nov 2013)
Well said... quite true... there are many cry babies about this phone as if oneplus has stolen their diapers
10. engineer-1701d (Posts: 3180; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
it was great a month ago and then now still looking at this phone as a has been now they took too long and no one is really interested in it anymore everyone is leaving the one plus site for other phones, and the only people staying are from other countries where they have to pay for the phone out right. just cause its cheap but the nexus is cheaper now lol
32. Ashoaib (Posts: 3223; Member since: 15 Nov 2013)
Same like vivo xplay 3s... it was a very nice looking, greatly specs device... I wanted to purchase it but they delayed to launch and my interest faded away...
22. DocOc (Posts: 138; Member since: 23 Apr 2014)
The bottom line is that you can't get a better phone to price ratio. Period.
26. eldyagustius (Posts: 176; Member since: 30 Oct 2013)
Low price, but only few were produced and you'll get the low price only by invite system. So oneplus one doesn't count. Looks like a scam to me.

cm will never be stable so who will buy this sh*t
9. eldyagustius (Posts: 176; Member since: 30 Oct 2013)
exactly right for what you talked. but the CM supports for long time. and maybe cm 11s stands for cyanogen mod 11 stable (LOL). maybe it's more special than other CM roms. anyway the main problem with this phone is NEVER SELL! I knew that oneplus is just a startup company. But OPPO which is relatively new and other companies on the earlier time as far as I know, never use the invite system.
21. DocOc (Posts: 138; Member since: 23 Apr 2014)
Actually the phone is selling and will sell just fine.

Not a great way to to start a company. By the way they ARE making a profit, don't ever let a business tell you otherwise. Just really speaks to how over priced the large manufacturers are marking their products up.
16. Planterz (Posts: 1971; Member since: 30 Apr 2012)
Alright children, here's my entire point with all the complaining that's going on with this phone/company:
OnePlus is not a scam. Did you pay for anything? Are they stealing your money? Have they taken anybody's money and not delivered? No. So how can it be a scam?
Are you entitled to anything? No, you are not. This isn't Pressy. This isn't a Kickstarter campaign where you've pledged (or spent) money, only to have the product changed on you after months of delays and excuses.
Do you have a right to be ANGRY? No you don't. It's a damn cell phone. Get over it. Is your carrer on the line? No. The only people whose careers might be on the line are the people at OnePlus, and I assure you that they're not happy with the delays either.
Should you be disappointed and/or dismayed? Sure. I am. A few months ago, I thought I'd have this phone in my hands by now. But I'm also a realist, and I understand that $#!+ happens. I mean, 3 months ago, if it was available, I would have bought a Sony Z2. $#!= happened, and the Z2 was delayed so long that my awareness of the 1+1 came along, and now it's the phone I'm hoping to buy. Yeah, I'd still love a Z2, but I spent too much of my tax refund, and now I only have enough left to by the 1+1.
But do I think I'm ENTITLED to one? No! Even if they didn't have this screwy invite system, I wouldn't think that I'm entitled to one. I was annoyed as everyone else when I read the news yesterday that shipments might be delayed because of a software bug, but I wasn't ANGRY about it. I didn't act like a child throwing a tantrum and vomit vitriol all over the interwebs about how I WAS going to buy this phone, but NOW I'm not.
Get over yourselves. Get over any sense of entitlement you have for a freaking cell phone. Maybe I'm a dreamer fooling myself and this OnePlus One is a ghost phone and nobody will ever have one (apart from the 100 or so that do). But I'm not going to feel cheated, scammed, or whine like a petulant spoiled brat about it.

I'd still like a kick at this phone if its not six or more months from now before I can get one or two..
Cause that's Nexus time if they make a last one.
Though I'd scoop this as a back up to my N5 if its released soon or I get an invite.
I've felt let down by delays but not enough to tear apart company, they owe me nothing.

For someone who says this is nothing more than a phone company sure doesn't make it seem like it.
28. eldyagustius (Posts: 176; Member since: 30 Oct 2013)
I'm not angry with it and I'm not disappointed with it. Several times ago, this phone looks promising and cheaper than other flagships. It's successfully bashed other flagship phones such Nexus 5 and S5 because of the price and spec. But what about now? The company has very limited stocks. Such a bullsh*t.
