OnePlus 5 specs allegedly leak out: Dual rear camera and 3,600 mAh battery with faster charging expected

Chinese manufacturer OnePlus has produced some beastly smartphones over the last few years, so it's not surprising to see the amount of hype generated by the company's upcoming flagship - the OnePlus 5. Where there's hype there are also many rumors and leaks, and the latest serving of speculations comes from Weibo.

A recent post from Kumamoto Technology allegedlyreveals some of the most important specs of the device. Some of the information coincides with previous rumors - we are very likely to see a vertically arranged dual rear camera setup on the OnePlus 5, and the poster claims that the recently leaked photo samples which were apparently taken with the handset can be used as proof for it. 

By now, everyone agrees that Snapdragon 835 will be present on the flagship, but there were some disputes regarding the amount of RAM on the device. Some of the earlier rumors suggested that the OnePlus 5 will come with a whopping 8GB of RAM, but this post indicates that the phone will ship with 6GB of the stuff which is still quite impressive by contemporary standards. The fingerprint scanner is likely to stay at the front, while the internal storage department is expected to be at 128GB. Still, Kumamoto Technology doesn't exclude the possibility of an 8GB variant with 256GB storage to pop up in the future.

Moving on to the new stuff - a 3,600 mAh battery will supposedly keep the hamster wheel spinning, while the phone will experience a substantial 25% improvement in terms of charging time (compared to the OnePlus 3T). If you're holding your breath for some information about the headphone jack, we're sorry to disappoint, but the post mentions that there is currently no confirmation whether the phone will feature a 3.5mm audio jack. 

As with all such rumors, we advise that you take any unofficial information with a pinch of salt. However, all of these posts suggest that we're going to see another super powerful OnePlus for 2017. Considering that the handset will likely cost way less than the Galaxy S8 or the upcoming iPhone, we're pretty sure that the Chinese manufacturer will have another very successful year.
