Once again, a butt-dial makes an ass of alleged drug dealer

0. phoneArena 02 Mar 2013, 19:52 posted on

Is it us, or does it seem that we've seen this story a number of times; a drug dealer butt-dials 9-1-1 and the dispatcher overhears a conversation that leads to the cops being sent out to an address that is revealed using GPS technology with the result that a drug deal is interrupted, arrests are made and another victory is chalked up for the good guys...

I remember a few years ago walking into the office at work and as I turned my iPod off I could hear a quiet voice coming from somewhere. I checked my phone (I think it was a Sony K850i) and found that while the phone was in my pocket I had called the emergency services, Fortunately I had only called them a couple of seconds before I realised so I quickly apologised but it's quite worrying how easily it happened.

Dumb and dumber. Maybe we should send this one to Jay Leno for his dumb criminals bit? There are lots of way to avoid this kind of stupidity, but if these bozos are too dumb to look for it, I'm not telling them how to avoid it.

What really bothers me is the part that says "A study shows that 20% of butt-dialed calls are to 9-1-1" and has a link to the story from a year ago, but the actual statistic and story is that "as much as 1 in 5 (9-1-1) calls turn out to be...butt-dials." There is a HUGE difference there. It seems like a rather large detail to overlook...

The HUGE difference there is that intelligent people know that 1 in 5 and 20 % are the EXACT SAME THING....but you have been found lacking said intelligence level.

Reason for stat? Every cell in the USA will call 911 with a long press of the 9 key WHETHER IT HAS CURRENT CELL SERVICE PROVIDER OR NOT.

The difference I pointed out friend was not between 20% and 1 in 5.
The difference is between:
20% of butt-dials are to 9-1-1.
and
20% of 9-1-1 calls are butt-dials.
THERE is a huge difference. Do not attempt to insult my intelligence because you failed to read carefully.

Yeah I don't believe this one bit. What are the chances that criminals butt-dial 9-1-1 when they are committing drug deals or committing crimes or even just talking about committing crimes. It's like the CIA aren't the only ones that listen in on people conversation over the cellphones anymore. Watch what you say cause they're watching. Lol I don't freak over this but they shouldn't treat us like we're stupid and tell us it's butt-dials putting criminals away.

Portland , Oregon is the number one city in the US for heroin. Let me try to explain it again. If you are into herioin, hope to get into heroin or otherwise have no real aim in life or concern for your future, then Portland is the hot spot for you. The population of Oregon is around 3 million. It is a very small state with a very big drug problem. We have an incredible, almost unbelievable amount of addicts and drug users here. The main drugs are meth, heroin and pot. Of course oxycodene and pills are extremely popular here as well. The police in Portland and surrounding suburbs are notoriously known for being corrupt and awful. They are known for letting partiers go and also for strongly, actively supporting an all white population. I don't believe in the history of Oregon there has ever been one arrest for harassing Latinos. I have called the police maybe 6 to 12 times for harassment of me, being violently attacked and even having robbers try to break into two different properties. The police refused to take any action on any of my calls or reports. Yet they let this white drug addict get off with a citation. An earlier version of this article states how she only got a citation. The article was revised to leave that part out. So if I call the police now they have psychological tactics to break you down. They are sexual harassment tactics. They are actually trained to sexually harass women. I have never been physically assaulted by a police officer but it doesn't mean it won't happen in the future with the way the culture of the police is heading here.
