Official Twitter app now available for iPhone

The other day we wondered if the removal of Twitter app Tweetie 2 was the signal that an official Twitter app was coming to the iPhone. Well, we can wonder no longer. Produced by the same team that made Tweetie, the official app is free and can be downloaded from the App Store. Android users have already had the opportunity to tweet away with the official Twitter app and the reviews have been impressive enough to call it the best Twitter client ever made. The reason for the superlatives is simple. Just before the official app made it to Android, Tweetie developer Atebits was purchased by Twitter. So, iPhone users, let us know what you think about the official Twitter app and if it lives up to your expectations. Ahh, how tweet it is.

Tried it out yesterday,there are some minor changes to Tweetie 2 which IMO is the best Twitter app.Its excellent to have such a high quality app like this for FREE now!!!

Wow the name of the app is Twitter, how lame...I'll stick to the web-based mobile site.
