The BlackBerry Storm 9500 has been given an official new OS upgrade as version 4.7.0.167 has been released for Vodafone's model of the touchscreen device...

I think its ridiculous that RIM doesn't want the original Storm users to like their phone more with an upgrade. Most people who have the Storm 1 are not eligible for an upgrade to the Storm 2.

Not quite, if the storm2 is released in october-november, they will. They be eligble for a early upgrade.

i agree with papajay... SW updates have nothing to do with the carrier, it is manufacturer dependent... grant VZW approves the SW on their storm, but RIM makes it.
