sprint ptt is pretty good as far as i can tell. i have been using it for more than two year. however the phones absolutely suck. especially the crappy motorola brutes. we have them at work and they break all the time. it would be great if samsung or another company made a stronger and not bulkier ptt that works and has a better os than the crap motorola makes. seriously the brute sucks

Yeah right Brute sucks, but the Moto Titanium is great. Android phone with Direct Connect.

Try the i365 if you need a bulletproof Nextel Direct Connect phone. It's big, but it's sturdy.

The Brute has a reputation for all kinds of quality issues and poor design issues.

The only truly "Nextel-like" phone these days is the i365, especially if you install the "rubber ducky" antenna it gets awesome reception. If you can stand to carry a large bar phone, and you just need to make cellular phone calls and use the Direct Connect (i.e. no data, no apps), the i365 is hard to beat. Get one before Sprint stops selling them and you'll have a phone that will last until they completely close down iDEN in 2013-2015 timeframe.
