OUYA to have a launch event in San Francisco on March 28th

We learned a couple weeks ago that OUYA finally had a launch plan in place and that Kickstarter backers would have their OUYA consoles shipped on March 28th, but now the OUYA team looks like it is planning a launch event for that same date, which will be held in San Francisco...

Why buy this crap when NVIDIA is coming out with their own ANDROID CONSOLE PROJECT SHEILD that can do more than this tiny thing

I agree, however for the sake of being devils advocate, this will be WAY cheaper.

Come on, it's just $99. Not that bad for that price. With that price you'll only get a samsung galaxy y with single core CPU, QVGA TFT display, 256 MB RAM

It's a $99 Android console for playing games that cost under $10. Some of you seem to be under the impression, judging by your disparaging comments, that this is supposed to be a PS4 competitor.

I hate OUYA fans they are so ignorant. There is nothing unique about this device and it actually does less than what an Android smartphone can do. I can use my Note 2 essentially as a computer, a console, and a phone that is highly portable.
OUYA has no solution for redundancy of games, the very basis of its existence. If you purchase a game on your phone and play it you have both a monetary obligation but also a gameplay or time obligation. If you want to play Angry X on your phone and then take it home to the OUYA you will have to purchase two versions. Then you will also have to play both versions and will not be able to transfer the gameplay on one device onto the other device. The idea that users want to waste excess time on mediocre mobile games makes no sense.
OUYA is essentially creating a cognitive dissonance amongst consumers as to what version to purchase and play and is doing so in an attempt to capture sales on their own third party appstore. OUYA is sidestepping Google in order to obtain a higher profit margin on the sale of applications.
Once steambox or other alternatives hit the market and people are able to have moderately powerful computing devices & media centers wrapped into one in their livingroom, OUYA will go bankrupt very rapidly.
The only thing OUYA has going for it is being a platform for Indie developers? How is developing for Google Play any different than OUYA? It isn't and it is actually worse since you have to buy their device and their peripherals. On regular Android you can already build games with support for BT peripherals(controllers, keyboards, etc) and make great games. GTA3 has PS3 controller support built into it and it works great.
Still have not heard a valid reason to be pro-OUYA.

It's still crap considering how awful the Tegra 3 is..... its a DEDICATED console, I wouldnt waste $100 on a dedicated console when my phone runs circlrs around it.
