My wife and I both hav the Droid Razr maxx. I got the update but she did not. I talked to the verizon rep and he said they push out the updates a little at a time in case there is an issue. They don't want to blow up everyones phone at once. So if you don't have it yet it should be coming. There is a way to manually update to but not with the system update function.

What the hell are these guys smokin'? I haven't experienced any of the issues mentioned in this update. To be fair, though, not using Mobile Hotspot or VZ Nav'. But, more importantly, I don't have any data connectivity issues; managed to gorge 35GB last month alone. Battery not an issue. Consumers should be forced to take mandatory trainings on how to use smartphones before they buy. Or, they should be forced to buy iPhones since, they require very little iNtelliGence.
Motorola: please stop wasting time with unnecessary updates and give us ICS (already)!

Agreed, especially updates to improve bloatware apps that I have removed - a waste of an update - battery life on the RAZR easily gives me a day to 2 days, depending on usage. And, I can use the Mobile Hotspot with it being provisioned.

Yeah', these people are making stuff up just to try and shoot down the RAZR™…
Pa'leeeeze......if I had had any of the above issues I had through January 15th to return it or exchange it for the GN or (especially if battery was a problem) return it and wait a week and a half for the MAXX™.
But, I didn't. Why?
Because I don't have ANY of those issues.
+1 (for you)
BTW, if I get an "Update" notification I'm not doing; I'll root this bad boy and "Freeze" the process with TB. lol

Actually I would ask what YOU'RE smokin?
I've had the bionic, razr and now razr max, I'm a pretty tech savvy guy as well and my razr (and maxx - heck my bionic did it too) drop out of 4G for no apparent reason all the time, 4G, noG, no data, back to 3G, back to full bars on 4G while standing still.
Additionally the mobile hotspot, which I WISH i could use a lot is hit and miss at best. Sometimes my laptop/iPad will be able to transfer data when connected, sometimes not so much (and usually not so much).
So yea, I'm kind of welcoming any updates that may fix these issues.
Good for you that you happen to have a phone and/or (more likely or) live in an area where these things aren't a problem for you, but to accuse people of needing to be trained on smartphones because they have these issues? Wow, must be nice to think you're all that.

You must be in one of AT&T (Atrociously Throttled & Technically challenged) areas. I don't have 4G connectivity issues. Could also be your SIM card; have Verizon swap it out [dangle preposition]…

I know several others that like me have razr's on verizon and they have the same issues...most have disabled 4g, seems to stabilize it but its a 4g phone so that's a crappy solution.
In portland Oregon, I get full bars in 4g everywhere around here, but doesn't seem to matter.

35 GB a month is approx. 48.6 MB per hour continuous for 30 days!
Now I know why the 4G LTE network bogs down, people "gorging"!

yeah, well I used 80GB last month, but it's still jacked. I can use my 4G hotspot for Netflix, which works great, but the second I try to pull up yahoo.com, I've got nothing. You specifically said that you don't use the services that are referred to in the article, so just shut up, you have no reference.

I'm running 6.12.174. :P
some of the icons change and they're a downgrade in looks from the previous versions and some of the Widgets are still glitchy. I'm a bigger fan of 2.3.4 than 2.3.5-2.3.6. so just show me the Ice Cream!

I use the hotspot capability a lot, and have experienced the stability of connection issues. Hopefully the new update fixes the issues. Haven't received the update yet, however.

Thanks for the links. If no OTA by this evening, I will try them.

Anyone showing this as available on their phones yet? STILL not on mine... :-(
16. mcdonsco (Posts: 6; Member since: 07 Feb 2012)
I'm beginning to think this is crap...I have access to 3 razr's (one of them a maxx) and none are showing OTA available.
I hate being teased.

Just talked to VZW, no updates have been pushed for Razr's - Looks like just the leaked version and that's it...
18. ksigma15 (Posts: 1; Member since: 08 Feb 2012)
I had connectivity issues with my hotspot. Checked and the update never showed up, did it on my own and phone runs much smoother and no more connection issues.
19. mcdonsco (Posts: 6; Member since: 07 Feb 2012)
I went ahead and did the manual leaked update ... wondering if verizon does push the update will my phone now NOT get it because I did that update?
20. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5540; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
your phone will show that it's already received it so no but these leaked versions i have posted shouldn't be that much different than the final releases if they're different at all.
