O2 announces the availability of the Android 2.1 update for the Dell Streak

Those newly minted Dell Streak owners over on AT&T surely must be gleaming at our friends over the big pond as O2 UK announced the availability of Android 2.1 for the device. The massive Android powered slate handset being sported by owners in the UK have been living with the already behind the curve version of Android 1.6 – just like those brand spanking new AT&T owners.
The update is ready for the taking for UK customers and can be fetched by simply clicking on System Updates in the Settings Menu. However, you'll need to have at least 50 percent or more of battery life and be connected to Wi-Fi in order to download the update. Once that's all done, these Dell Streak owners can now experience all of the modern offerings associated with Android 2.1 Eclair and lessen the platform's constant fragmentation issue.

XDA should be able to help port this over to US users....
