being a Verizon phone it will no way shape or form will it be a true "Nexus" phone being that all other Nexus phone dont have CRAP all over it as in bing (god i hated that...i mean really wtf) or verizon nav or vcast....Verizon will never put out a pure google phone...they f**k with everything...with all that being said i really cant wait to mess with this phone....seems awesome but all of this is pure speculation....and if the glass display is true please for the love of my money be gorilla glass

Gorilla glass is strong but not that strong. I've cracked both my phones with gorilla glass.
24. remixfa posted on 18 Sep 2011, 10:43 0
its still stronger than regular glass, which is the point. would you like it to shatter on the first or 3rd drop? lol

My OG Droid came with Vanilla Android (Save for a widget that allowd me to view my Verizon Data usage). WTF does it matter? I'm going to root and tinker with Custom ROM's anyway:)

Samsung S II didn't come to verizon because it wouldn't have been that impressive at only 3G. Since they only announced the LTE Samsung Galaxy S II model after the models were announced for the US by the other carriers. Now if Verizon wants to they could bring it over after Europe gets it but it probably won't be to early Q1. Either way Verizon would be idiots not to add the S II to their line up even with the Prime coming out. Some people don't want that big of a screen so give them an alternative one.

Why does Samsung chips have issues with LTE and HSPA?
They make chips with very good graphics capabilities, but their data sucks.
The Samsung Hercules is going to have the 1.5ghz dual core Qualcom chip because it can handle the HSPA+ unlike the Samsug Exynos chip.

at least they're going with an OMAP processor than an S3 variant.

Nexus for all is what i say the more the better. I am on AT& Pee so i gots to wait for that version.
10. Zoenphlux posted on 17 Sep 2011, 16:51 2
I'd rather have the Exynos dual core vs Ti with LTE cause i cant have LTE were i am...in fact...i dont even have 3g where i'm at..thanks ATT. So if ATT got the 1.5 samsung dual core that owuld be great because it is stronger then TI processors.
13. Thump3rDX17 posted on 17 Sep 2011, 20:11 2
you have to look at the big picture guy. if i were on AT&T at this point of their development i'd wait for an LTE phone because even if you get a phone with the capability to use AT&T's LTE network and can't use it right away they will likely get LTE going in your area well before your two years is up and the OMAP4 only comes second to the Exynos which is indeed very powerful but so is the OMAP4 so you're really not missing out on too much power if you decide to side with a phone with an OMAP4 and LTE over a phone with Exynos sans the LTE.

i think i just got a boner.. 1.5ghz Exynos!? Hopefully thats confusion for the real nexus Primes. If they havent added LTE functionality to the radio in the exynos, then i dont see that being in the VZW version. It would be rediculous for them to pass on LTE when they are going head to head with the iphone5. OMAP and Exynos are both as good or better than the reported 1ghz chip inside the iphone5. Take the omap with LTE so that way u have 1 more bullet point to show customers.
Now, since VZW needs LTE, then hopefully the REAL nexus Prime will have the 1.5 exynos. Maybe thats why Tmobile skipped on it in the hercules? To better differentiate between the handsets. Hercules as the fastest, prime as the strongest. That I could forgive them for. :)
now LAUNCH THE DARN PHONE!!! lol

4chan gets so much traffic that posts disappear once they get too old (like a couple hours). it's not because it was intentionally removed.

Kinda sucks that Verizon have it only exclusive for the Holidays. But it still better looking than the iPhone 5. Hope the sales beats the Iphone 5 when it launches. Still prefer to have it on each carrier. but Only Verizon gets it first
21. KEVlN posted on 18 Sep 2011, 04:11 1
How can you say that the Nexus Prime looks better than the iPhone 5 if neither of them are out or even leaked? I'm anticipated for the prime as well but c'mon, you can't jump that far ahead of yourself as to say that the iPhone 5 doesn't look as good when you've never even put eyes on either phone.

lets take a vote...
HTC Vigor (HTC Incredible HD) or the Samsund Droid Prime (Samsung Galaxy Nexus)
vote vote vote
19. snowgator posted on 18 Sep 2011, 00:24 0
I am gonna have to vote twice: My wife wants the Samsung (whatever freaking name they pick), and I would take the HTC (Whatever freaking name they pick). Depending on actual performance and reviews, of course.
22. KEVlN posted on 18 Sep 2011, 04:16 1
Of course prime! I love htc's build quality, beats audio, and there dev support but 720p hd res + superamoled + ICS... How could anyone resist?
20. sethyvball posted on 18 Sep 2011, 02:27 0
Does anyone know the size of the actual phone? (not the screen size but the measurements of the physical phone). 4.65" is a huge screen but since ICS doesnt require capacitive buttons wouldnt that make for a (maybe) smaller phone cause it uses the space where the capacitive buttons are supposed to be? Im so keen to buy the Nexus Prime when its out, but if its too large then I'll opt for something else.
26. remixfa posted on 18 Sep 2011, 10:49 0
its probably going to be the same size or slightly smaller than an SGS2.. that would be my guess.
29. roldefol posted on 19 Sep 2011, 07:52 0
I'd guess same size as the Galaxy S2 Sprint/T-Mobile (4.5") variants, maybe a bit narrower since the HD screen will have a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of the current 15:9.
27. toaster posted on 18 Sep 2011, 13:44 0
I'm more than slightly confused. From what I read here and at Phonedog, it makes it seem that Verizon has exclusivity to the Prime. What is the chance of AT&T - and therefore by default, Rogers, since they use the same bands - getting this? Or is it slated to be only on Verizon? That would be a shame.
30. Matty posted on 26 Sep 2011, 19:15 0
The UK doesnt have any LTE coverage or networks so it could be possible that they might put in a chip which does not support LTE for certain areas. I know the Nexus phones are meant to be the same with Google choosing only 1 chipset but it could be they have better hardware support for ICS so manufacturers can choose either chipset
