how can the price be lowered if its not even on sale? maybe a better title could be ''XOMM's UK prising may turn out lower than expected'' or something on the lines of that.... just saying

Well, since pre-ordering with Carphone Warehouse (3G version) means paying up front, full £599.. Lets hope they refund the £20 difference

I keep posting the same thing in most of these tablet forms. Bottom line is the Moto Xoom is a fail. I know it. The industry knows it. Soon the Android fans will know it.
I spoke to several resellers and they have told me that the Xoom isnt selling that well. Search results also point to this conclustion. The iPad is hard to measure because not enought were released the opening few weeks. Only know are they starting to catch up to the demand.
I guess I can consider myself an iFan, or whatever, I am a fan! but I am not bias. When I see a good product I call it like I see it. This is why I thing the Samsung Galaxy tabs are going to be awesome devises. The Black Berry playbook is an epic fail even before it was anounced.
I see andriod being a real competitor in the years to come. But tApple is going to dominate for a long time.

Big mistakes on the XOOM (In my opinion)
-kept price as a secret
-no immediate GSM version
-no immediate wifi version
-no 16GB version to compete with lower
-having to return the tab to get LTE
-some scary info regarding the price that caused confusion
-not so many videos of the XOOM and its features in commercials
- US only market for all versions now :/

That's a typical Motorola problem!
They have good products, but it's difficult to get any support outside of the U.S.. It's like the rest of the world doesn't exist or doesn't deserve any support.
Personally, I'd never buy a wifi only version of any tablet! It just doesn't make any sense in the long term.

I was thinking about that but now I've changed my mind a bit, as long as they keep all the other innards (everything but GSM/CDMA/LTE) i was thinking about just getting the XOOM and buying a mifi to use the unlocked XOOM costs around 900 dollars while the wifi + mifi costs around 650 on maximum price witch may sound quite interesting

To win over iPad, new tablets have to be better, faster and most important CHEAPER. Coming late to the party and asking for outrageous price is DOA for the XOOM.

It's Motorola own fault that they can't compete with the crappy Ipad 2 with price. I say forget the XOOM and wait till the Galaxy Tab or the HTC Flyer comes out. I'll prefer the galaxy Tab at least SAMSUNG keep have a reasonable price tag 16GB for WiFi. And To let all users over their in Europe DON'T BOTHER WITH MOTOROLA GO WITH HTC OR SAMSUNG TABLET.

The WiFi only version in Staples is $599. If you get it in Delaware there is no tax on it. If you have a coupon it's even cheaper. That's not that bad. At least until online retailers like Newegg, Frys, JR, etc. start selling it with no tax free shipping.
What bothers me is the slow response from Motorola. We are talking about this device a long long time ago and it's still not on the shelves and by the time it hits the stores in a mass they will stop the manufacturing and build a new one. People have short att. spans. By the time it hits the store it will be "old news".
All this time the icrap sells like hotcakes because they not only realized that a simple and expensive device will attract all the simple and snob people (75% of the population) but they actually have an idea about marketing while the motorola team is running blindfolded.
