They would look even more awesome without a carrier exclusive in the U.S.

Thumbup if you agree that carrier exclusive marketing is a BAD idea.

Seriously. +1.

Having a unified brand image and phone across all carriers is much better than having a broken image (read: not unified, people not having a image pop inside of there head when they think of the word "Lumia") and have a single phone across all carriers (or, better yet, have multiple phones across all carriers. I.E, have the 920, 928, 925, AND 1020 available on all of them so that people can chose the one that fits best for them). They could even save money by making the T-Mobile and AT&T model's have the same bands (thus having to make less carrier specific models) and have that also be the Global unlocked model. They could also do the same for the CDMA versions (have Sprint, Verizon, and any other CDMA network's bands in it) and sell that at those locations.

I'll agree that added exposure, via non-carrier exclusives, is probably a better option to promote Nokia's newest products.

Also, a 5' 1080P S800 modified version of the 41MP L1020 will rock the party, and turn the fast & lean WP8 OS into a capable gaming platform as well. Throw a 6' phablet into the mix, and then you'll have a very powerful and highly secure option for people wanting something different than stale and inflexible iOS, or the leaky boat known as Android which spills your financial data and other personal information all over the net...

NOKIA is BACK :o`

TBH, I don't understand why the picture is shown with so many small live tiles (has the point of live tiles is to have, well, live notifications).

Welp, Hopefully this won't be AT&T exclusive (I won't hold my breath, though) and will be available to everyone.

The picture came out months ago and I believe it's a Photoshop. The GDR3 update will have support for more rows though, and 1080p across the board.

Would suck to have a such a large screen with 720P resolution in 2013.

From what I understand (from what the News outlets have let on), Windows Phone devices bigger than 5" will be allowed to have 1080p screens. Kinda sucks there limiting it to above 5", but, at least it will have them (I'd love to see a 4.5~4.7 1080p Windows Phone device).

would be great if nokia phablet have Windows 8..........will be killer for damn sure.

rumor is coming with that MS is working with nokia really closely to give unique and different WP experience on Nokia Phablet, so my suspicion goes on Windows 8.

And all other OS is still behind android.
none of them are perfect, ios and wp are may be lag free does that make them perfect? I say no! They are still way behind in alot of things. And of course android need little higher specs to,run, smooth. It has alot of things to run at same time. High end android is as smooth as iPhone and Lumias . I know now someone will say "s4 lags" but its not android's fault its Samsung's fault . Their touch wiz contain, lots of graphics and,it is kinda buggy.
Windows phone 8 does look modern but there, isn't much 3d graphics to pull off just simple text and pictures etc(just like vanilla android) but still its minimum requirement is a dual core processor
calling android laggy is the same as saying wp doesn't have any apps and games
every os have its pros and cons. accept it. And currently android is the best platform on smartphone.its a fact.
and android is not as laggy as you mentioned.

Why every Android user thinks people need to root the device to get the ultimate experience. It's a fact that Android is laggy, Touchwiz, Sense 5 and every sh¡tty UI is part of Android, and not everyone is a geek or nerd to root a phone, the major part of ppl keep the phone as it comes at their hands, and the experience is a DISASTER. I prefer tiles really smooth on my smartphone wihout lag instead of million of widgets with crappy performance. I want to buy a phone and use it...if Android is under 1000 OEM's UI, it's a fact that Android still sux at UX.

But still its(android) too good to resist
android offer alot more than others, can't simply switch bcuz of lag (real or illusion).
high end phones like htc one wont lag, absolutely on par with high end wp and iPhones

I'll give you $1000 if you find prooves of lag in Lumia 520 (it's a $150 phone). I'm sure you will find many other issues in low-end Android devices than WP8. So, the true is that Android is for high-end users, or dummys with money...I can't understand ur statement: "high end phones like htc one wont lag, absolutely on par with high end wp and iPhones"...I can't get that.
The only conclusion from droidcomments is:
If you want to enjoy an Android experience, buy an HTC One or Galaxy S4 -no other phone is acceptable-, then root the phone, lose your warranty and install a new ROM from some strange nerd/hacker/lammer in the web that you don't know.
Test a Lumia, then comeback...

Android is highly insecure, and will never be suitable for use in a corporate environment.WP8 will soon receive VPN, and other subtle refinements that will make it a natural choice for companies that require both performance and security...

from my experience with android (galaxy s4, optimus g) it is the UI that get put over stock android that are laggy. if you're saying in 2013 that android is laggy then i'd guess you're talking about stock gs4 UI. then yes that is laggy at times. but that is touchwiz, not stock android. if you root your device and put google edition android on your gs4, the thing is silky smooth and flies.

so again, it's the oem UI's that get put over stock android that can make it laggy, not google stock android.

The design in the picture #4 of front panel shows thin bezels and last picture also showing thin bezels but picture #1, 2 & 3 are showing huge bezels. I think the first 3 pictures are fake if considered with front panel and last picture. I hope last picture's designed Nokia phablet would look truly awesome with super thin bezels. Just loved it.

Nokia has urged Microsoft to give it the software updates so Nokia can cut loose and make some really great products. GDR3 is the Microsoft hardware Update for Windows smart phones that makes Windows smart capable of using all the available High tech gear Android and Apple smart phones use. From now on no one can boast their smart phones have better technology
than Windows smart phones. The NEXT BIG update for Windows smart phones is the Windows
phone BLUE update which is MAJOR software Update coming ether late this year or early
next year. The Windows PC and Tablet update to Windows 8.1 will occur in late august or next month September and before the year is out the Windows PC's and all Tablets will get their Windows Blue software Updates. Microsoft is making efforts to make their Products have more quality and features
