" Moreover, Verizon will also benefit from the pact, since the carrier surely remembers how AT&T managed to take over a large part of the U.S. smartphone market by signing with Apple for its iPhone." The Iphone is NOT a smartphone. Its missing half of the features needed to be a smartphone.

exactly what requirements does it take to make it a smartphone??

Legion...if it/you only had a brain...you/it would be smart/a smartphone. It supports Exchange. What else pray tell can it NOT do that it MUST do to me a SMART fone? ROFLMAO

Ah, another twelve year old with a keyboard. Microsoft Office support, Picture messaging, Bluetooth Stereo, MicroSD port, Battery life longer than a day, and I could go on. So your idea of a "Smart fone" is something that supports exchange? ROFLMAOADYPOS, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Legion ..... some of your points a valid, but you are still a douche!

Hey right back at ya buddy!

I'm guessing you would say that Sprint's 8330 Curve just became a smart phone since before the last s/w update it was unable to pix message.

8. Legion posted on 06 Mar 2009, 14:36

Seeing as how that is the only thing missing from it that is hardly a fair comparison. The Iphone is lacking a multitude of what should be standard features, even for a normal phone let alone a smartphone.

i agree legion

12. remixfa posted on 06 Mar 2009, 19:03

it can not multi task, cut n paste, send vid/ pic messages, TAKE VID, have advanced securities, ect ect ect. there are many things that make a smart phone a smart phone. Iphone is NOT a smart phone. it is marketed like that for all the idiots that dont know any better. Just like ATT's "more bars in more places" really means "we have roaming agreements with GSM carriers in europe, not that they have better coverage in america. Its amazing, that ATT explorer guy on the commericials always finds internet in the wierdest places, but NONE of them are in AMERICA! :)

This seems strange that Nokia will be hooking up with VZW; especially since we know their track record with CDMA devices. Nokia hasn't had decent phones with VZW since the old "bar style" handsets ( although the i6315 was highly UNDERrated ).

13. remixfa posted on 06 Mar 2009, 19:04

well, if your CDMA choices were left to VZW or Sprint.... who would you choose? The giant luxury cruiser or the titanic?

15. insider80 posted on 07 Mar 2009, 11:05

well sprint has the instinct which was the only phone to beat out the iphone at every award show but still IS NOT a smartphone

16. brikz4real posted on 07 Mar 2009, 22:00

I totally agree with that remix.

17. DonLouie posted on 08 Mar 2009, 05:42

That's a bad comparison

11. insider80 posted on 06 Mar 2009, 17:56

i have to agree with legion here. i hate when people think the iphone is a smartphone or a pda. its just a touch screen thats it with a bunch of mostly useless apps. oh and it cant be insured or have the battery removed WTF is that all about anyway? stupid crappy iphone lol

14. killingthemonk posted on 06 Mar 2009, 22:30

But hey, you can get an app that'll fart for you.
